"God's going to seal the deal with the Holy Spirit." I'm sure his take is that you receive the Spirit upon Baptism, much like the Baptist Church teaches.

The Baptists teach when you "accept" or believe you receive the Spirit not when you are baptized. Yes the Church of Christ believes you receive at water baptism.
When I was baptized there in 1974 D. C. Lawrence the Pastor baptized me in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. I am glad when some group out there gains in truth. It is a good thing. Hopefully and prayerfully in another 3 decades they will teach the reality of Spirit baptism.

You are right, except one of my BIL's is Baptist and he told me you feel joy after being baptized and that is how you know you received the Spirit. Unless, I am getting that mixed up, it's been so long ago, he could have said after repentance.
Yes, it is a good thing. We certainly don't want to disenfranchise Robertson's experience, because he definitely changed from being a drunk and attributes that to God.

Re: Phil Robertson Baptizing In Jesus Name
How is this more truth? You don't know that he has or hasn't always baptized in Jesus' name.

Whatever Robertson has or hasn't done in the past, praise God that he is baptizing in the name of Jesus now, and there was obviously a work of the Spirit in his heart to bring about the change in his life.

Does that means he is saved?

Re: Phil Robertson Baptizing In Jesus Name
So what?
-he appears on a TV show
-he has a beard
-his wife wears jewelry, pants and make-up
-he is trinitarian
-he does not believe speaking in tongues is necessary to obtain salvation
-he does not teach baptismal regeneration
Hey, but other than that he's pretty "Apostolic."
