"I Cannot Fail the Lord"; Old Church Chorus

This is another old chorus the likes of which, frankly, I almost never hear anymore. Hope you enjoy it.

I love that little chorus. Beautifully played and sung!

Re: "I Cannot Fail the Lord"; Old Church Chorus

It's a great chorus. The playing and singing leave a lot to be desired; I'm badly out of practice, I'm afraid. Still, it's a song worth putting out for some devotional thought.

Thanks for the kind comments though. Years ago, Mickey Mangun sang a song that had the words, "Though I were just a beggar in the rags of life before Him, serving Him would make my life content..." I feasted on those words for months. A great song can be a tool.

Re: "I Cannot Fail the Lord"; Old Church Chorus

I hope you continue to revive some of these old songs. Many were born out of consecration and dedication unto the Lord. There are many new songs written that I love too... but it gets tiring hearing lyrics to music that are the 7/11 style (7 words sung 11 times).

Have you ever heard of the song, "Turn my heart O Lord like rivers of water"? It apparently is an old chorus that I just learned recently. You can listen to it on youtube. It has a beautiful message.

I found this version of it on youtube. There are several on there.

Re: "I Cannot Fail the Lord"; Old Church Chorus

Very nice song you put up; I do like that very much.

I agree with you on the old songs, as well. While the Psalmist did tell us to 'sing a new song...', he didn't tell us to quit singing the old ones. We are going to raise a generation with a very limited understanding of praise if we aren't careful.

I'll put more songs up when I can. I haven't played keyboard much lately and intended to put up, "I See a Crimson Stream of Blood" and frankly, I just didn't play it well enough to put up. It'll happen; just more practice needed. Practice needed on the singing end as well.

And yes; many of the olds songs were life testimonies, capsules of entire ministries. They deserve to be heard and are ignored at our own peril.

God bless! Here's to the new and the old.
