Romney leads the Republican 2016 Prez list!

Quote:
Mitt Romney leads the Republican field among New Hampshire primary voters for 2016. Yes, you read that right.

Quote:
Why not make it a third run for president? That's something that the former Republican nominee is definitely not thinking about right now. To put it in his own recent words: "Oh, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, no. No, no, no."

But that didn't stop the Virginia-based bipartisan policy firm Purple Strategies from adding his name to a recent survey for Granite State voters, which shows Romney in the lead with 25 percent support. Libertarian firebrand Rand Paul (who has strong infrastructure in New Hampshire) and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are behind with 18 percent and 17 percent support, respectively.
Quote:
GOP insiders want him to come back: "You know what a lot of them say to me?" an anonymous "operative" told BuzzFeed. "I think we need Mitt back."

Maybe third time is charm! I think there are a lot of voters who wish they would've voted for him instead.

I still #standwithRand.

Re: Romney leads the Republican 2016 Prez list!

Mitt would have done our country good, too bad the 51% voted crazy!!
And the conservatives that thought they would be heroic and not vote, or voted for some third party loser. And especially the Christians that could not vote for a Morman, but could vote for no one, or God forbid for a rabid leftist.

Never mind....."My hope is in Christ alone........"

Re: Romney leads the Republican 2016 Prez list!

Even if this poll is correct (which I doubt), the GOP will not win another election unless they really play aggressive. But they won't. I remember after Romney thrashed Obama in the first debate, he was "advised" to play nice in the last two.

I heard Rush pondering yesterday as to why the GOP seems to be siding against its base on every turn and not going after Obama. He speculated that the GOP is being payed off somehow.

Rush still does not get it. The GOP establishment is in collusion with the Dems. They are simply showing their true colors. They are traitors.

Re: Romney leads the Republican 2016 Prez list!

Here are Romney's comments regarding Senators Ted Cruz and Rand Paul. Romney is strictly Establishment. He wouldn't have changed a thing. The GOP Establishment is already united against any Conservative who tries to take the White House.

Romney didn't represent a broad portion of the party, that's why he lost. Even Joe Scarborough, who pretends to be a Republican, said a moderate can't win.

Yea, Mitt, they do represent another part of the party - the part that fights for the US Constitution and the American people.

Quote:
Cavuto noticed a couple names were missing, however. “But you didn’t mention [Kentucky Republican Sen.] Rand Paul and you didn’t mention [Texas Republican Sen.] Ted Cruz,” the host noted with a grin.

Well, you know, they represent different parts of the party,” Romney responded. “I’m going to give them a chance to express their views. But I think that we are gonna be best if we can unify behind a leader of the party who represents as broad a portion of the party as possible.”

Senator Ted Cruz responds:

Quote:
“Oh, look, Mitt Romney is entitled to support whomever he likes, to advocate for whomever he likes,” he said. “If he thinks that the presidential nominee could be a moderate, he’s entitled to that opinion. I think republicans believe we should nominate a strong conservative.”

Quote:
Ted Cruz Amasses Enormous Fundraising Stockpile Throughout 2013

Sen. Cruz’s fourth quarter fundraising numbers are another indication that people across Texas and America are eager to rise up and make DC listen,” Cruz's chief strategist Jason Johnson said in a statement announcing the numbers. “Thousands and thousands of patriots are putting their money where their mouth is – they’re the ones who are going to save our country, not the Washington Establishment.”

Yesterday, I heard a comment that if this "bridgegate" takes down Chris Christie as the likely nominee, it would open the door to force Jed Bush to run. I wouldn't put it past the GOP to be behind this.

Jeb Bush who played lip service to National School Choice Week this past week while pushing for Common Core. Ugh!

The GOP establishment is nuts if they think we will choose another Bush as our candidate. He was a pretty good Governor, but would be horrible as President.

No more Bush!

Seriously, I just wouldn't vote if he's the Republican candidate.

I understand that the GOP considers only a Governor as experienced and a viable candidate for the White House. Those they are putting up as the best choices - Chris Christie, Jeb Bush, Scott Walker and Mike Pence.

What they need to do is be careful at offending the base who stand with Ted Cruz and Rand Paul. They insulted the base during the 2012 primary and lost the election over it. If they aren't careful, we will have Hillary as our next president.

Re: Romney leads the Republican 2016 Prez list!

I believe that whoever the GOP selects will discover that Hillary Clinton is going to be a serious force to be reckoned with.

Americans seem to be in the mood to challenge all traditional paradigms. We've experienced the first African American President. Americans seem to be willing to go for shattering the status quo and could very well embrace the notion of, "Now, let's try a woman for President."

And I'll admit it... for me... she's a more appealing politician than anyone I've seen from the GOP so far. Now, that's not saying much. I'm not a big fan by any stretch of the imagination.

Even with her bungling of Benghazi? Whitewater? Rose Law Firm? No way she should be president. Of course, I thought the same of obama and he's enjoying his second term now.

Fortunately for her, as evidenced by the man on the street interviews, Americans are mostly stupid about politics. And the Whitewater / Rose Law scandals took place way back in the 90s, which is far enough back for no one to really remember it.

Benghazi was ugly. I don't believe we have all the details.

Whitewater?
Old news. Crooked, yes. But that's the nature of politicians. *shrugs*

In my opinion, none of the politicians on the field deserve to be President right now. I just think America is sick of the status quo. There is a trend to defy history and the mold of things. I think Hillary has an advantage in that she's a woman and we've never had a woman President. I also think her political machine is going to be massive. She also has name recognition throughout the world (some for better and some for worse). The politics of her presence is dictating what potential candidates are doing. Time had an interesting article on it. Here's a link, but I think you have to be a subscriber:

That's true for all of American politics.
