Why I Believe In Sinless Perfection

Because it is so easy to see in the scriptures.

Sinless?

34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. 1 Cor. 15:34

Paul says if we are sinning we don't have the knowledge of God.

Be perfect?

48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Matt. 5:48

Christ (the head of the Church) says as plain as day his disciples are to be perfect as the Father is perfect.

So not only is sinless perfection scriptural it is ESSENTIAL. It is not presented as an option but as the only true standard given the disciple.

Everything else is delusion to try to keep you from giving this your attention.

Re: Why I Believe In Sinless Perfection

Powerful proof you and I need to take this doctrine seriously.

If you have sin in your life the "rapture" is not for you!

Ephesians 5:25-27

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Paul spells it out. We must be holy and without blemish.

Same as saying we need to be without sin.

Are you perfect as the Father is perfect?

While this may stun some on here, I'm probably the worse sinner on the forum. Not only that, but I enjoy sinning sometimes. Makes me feel good.

Yea, grace much abounds in my life.

True Michael, but this is a hard thing to obtain and teach to most people. I think that it's hard for most people for a few reasons, one is that they don't always look at sin in the same way, and they keep looking for this laundry list of dos and don't, that if they just follow those things, they're living without sin. It's not just your works that has to be perfect, it has to come from your heart. And you can't say you have it in your heart, without the works to back it up; it all goes together.

Also people surround their selves constantly with worldly things, or things that aren't spiritual, or things that aren't really pertaining to the lust and cares of this world or to the spirit, but it'll draw your attention away from the spirit just the same. If you constantly have these nonspiritual things around you, or surround yourself with non-spiritual things, or even if you try to have an equal amount of both, you're of course going to be drawn towards the flesh (sinful) side, because the flesh is weak, and will always lean towards the fleshly, carnal side.

If people surrounded their self (as much as they could while living in this world) with things pertaining to the spirit, or that which is conducive to holy living everyday, and all day, surrounded by the word, with constant prayer, and praise going up to God, fastings, reading the word, receiving the word preached, being in service of Holy Ghost seekers, talking about the word and of God's mighty acts, talking about the bible, and going after God and receiving miracles and testimonies from God, going out and telling of this way to others, doing charity, spreading the word, doing good works, and having the encouragement of like minded people who are doing the same, you will find that the journey to living a sinless, or perfected life is not as impossible as they continue to make it out to be.

And doing these things, you'll find out that with this things, have the spirit leading and guiding you, you'll have more strength to withstand temptation, and to fight whatever the devil brings your way to draw you away from your walk.

Amen!

The Apostle Paul gave us two very important pieces of advice:

"This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh." (Gal 5:16; also vs 25)

"But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof." (Rom 13:14)

Each day we must draw close in communion with the Savior that we may put off the works of the flesh and put on the works of the Spirit in Christ Jesus (Eph 4:22-24).

In verse 23 of that same passage (Eph 4), Paul said to be renewed in the spirit of our mind. There are 168 hours in each week. How many of those hours do we saturate our minds with the things of the world, and how many do we consecrate to the Lord to be renewed in our mind?

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (Rom 12:2)

Yes, I think you've hit the nail on the head brother. We can become so saturated with the things and ideas of the world that we leave no room for the Spirit to move us on to perfection. (Lu 8:14).

Re: Why I Believe In Sinless Perfection

I read of story about two preachers with one that believed in sinless perfection, the other preacher spashed water in his face. The sinless preacher got mad then other preacher said away with your sinless perfection.

Re: Why I Believe In Sinless Perfection

Why do people act like, just because one person doesn't do the right thing, that it automatically excuse them of doing right. The bible says to mark the perfect man, why do people always mark the imperfect man? Always looking unto people who are living in sinful, flawed lives as your yard stick. Is that really what you're going to tell God if you're asked why you didn't obey the scriptures? What? "I didn't obey because that person didn't obey." Sounds like Adam, always blaming the other person. You know to do right, stop looking for excuses to do wrong. If God Almighty came down, and put on flesh, and lived in this same flesh that we have on, and lived a life without sin, those of us who have been filled with His spirit, really have no excuse. Jesus is our example.
