Bummercare and the 2014 Elections

The Spite House is in crisis mode. obama has summoned the heads of the insurance industry and his HHS people to figure out how to repair the damage that has been done to his signature achievement. Democrats on the Hill have had closed-door meetings with admin officials about the damage control currently underway. Jay Carney actually walked off the dias during yesterday's briefing while questions were still being asked. The typically cocky and confident Press Sec had no answers and has stumbled and bumbled his way through the past few pressers, trying to figure out how to answer the questions that plague bummercare and obama.

Liberals and Democrats have plummeted back to earth, after having been so elated with the seeming demise of any public support for the Republican party after the govt shutdown. They thought that they and the msm had done their job to turn people completely against Republicans, especially the Tea Party.

But they're getting worried.

300,000 average Joe's in FL just received notices that they'll be dropped from the insurance they've had and like because of bummercare. Insurers in California, Pennsylvania and other states have also started sending a massive amount of notices to their policyholders, informing them they will either be dropped or will have to renew at a much higher rate. Then there's the website problem. The govt cut corners and tried cheating to get the website built, and now it's all coming back to haunt them. The Spanish language site isn't even up or running yet. The Spite House claims it will be fully operational by mid-late November. Source Link

Worse yet, these "fixes" the admin is trying to do is making matters worse. A new link on the site to view prices now, without having to fill out an application, is giving bad quotes. CBS Report

All this is very bad news for Democrats, most of whom staked their credibility and career on bummercare. Now, they're hoping that this will be fixed before the deadline in March; and if that happens, it will help, but not prevent a coming voter backlash.

Democrats have promoted bummercare from the beginning. With people losing their insurance and having to pay much higher rates for insurance, the Democrats could be in for a very bad mid-term election next November. The Republicans have issued warning after warning against bummercare, but the Spite House and Democrats ignored them. Should this trend continue, the Republicans could very well not just add to their House membership, but they could take over the Senate.

I know a year is a decade in politics. If this is fixed, people won't remember it and the Democrats could expand in the Senate and House. But I don't believe this will get better. IMO, it's only going to get worse for the Democrats and bummercare.

I voted Dem. That being said, I would love to see a GOP controlled Congress.

Too bad that won't actually fix anything. Too many people rooting for 'their team' to win, regardless of the fact that neither team really cares about America or the constitution (much less about God and righteousness).

True, I doubt anything will "fix" DC. But depending on the type of Republicans elected, if there are more Cruz, Paul, Amash or Lee type Republicans, it will help.

I heard McCain on a local radio show here say he was seriously thinking about running for another term in 2016. He would be 80 then. Ridiculous.

I wish we could get term limits on Congress, but they'll never pass a bill that will do that.

Did Cruz ever present a solution to Obamacare during the 21hr filibuster?

He said it should be delayed; which, considering the absolute dumpster fire that the website currently is, should have been done. Instead the Democrats refused to listen to common sense and shut down the government for 16 days until the Republicans removed it.

You reading the breaking news? Dems are now lining up support to do exactly what Sen Cruz wanted to do....delay the mandate.
