Obama giving statement on Syria - LIVE now!

Any second Obama is expected to give a televised statement about Syria. Is it a statement of war? I hope not.

Is Obama enough of an arrogant hypocrite to strike Syria without authorization of Congress and without any coalition allies backing him?

I think so.

CNN is saying this statement is NOT about any imminent strike.

So then why is Obama wasting valuable CFB opening weekend tv time? I want to watch football, not listen to this hypocrite talk about the need to get involved in another conflict, without Congressional authorization, and without any coalition. [tic]

Good grief! I hate when people are late....almost 20 minutes late.

Bahaha says they presented a very powerful case yesterday.

Again with the appeal to emotions, no real evidence.

US is going to attack...

Better have Congress vote, or be impeached.

Talking about the Constitution...

Yay! Obama will ask for Congress to debate and vote for authorization.

Thank you.

Now I hope Congress votes against it.

...and then he says he doesn't need Congress to approve strikes, he has power to do so without...

Hypocrite.

Talking about how we have to act because if we don't rogue states will do more.

Again, hypocrite. W gave this SAME speech, and Obama and Biden criticized him for it. In fact, Biden said he'd impeach W over it.

Here's to looking forward to the debate, and hopefully enough votes to reject use of force.
