This Is Who Obama Supports in Egypt

Last week, there was a massive demonstration which dwarfed the size of the Arab spring crowd. The people demanded Egyptian President Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood resign from power.

After a few days of these massive protests, the military staged a coup and removed Morsi and the MB from power.

Obama had to be upset. He celebrated Morsi and the MB's rise to power. He sent millions to fund the new government and used the change in regime as part of his foreign policy accomplishments.

After Morsi was removed from power and the MB officials were removed, their supporters had their demonstration. In that demonstration, they stormed a building with several youths who were on the roof of the building. They broke through the doors and threw at least 2 of these youths off a ledge on the roof to what appears to be their death approx 20 ft or more below.

These are the people Obama supports.

****WARNING - Video shows both teens being thrown from a ledge at least 20 feet down to the roof below. They don't move after they fall.

Horrific scenes captured on a mobile phone and posted on YouTube show a group of men surrounded by captors in the north-east city of Alexandria, the Sunday People can report.

Sickeningly, the victims are tossed head-first from a ledge. They land on the concrete roof below, where they are beaten and left for dead.
No wonder the massive crowds who demonstrated last week carried signs criticizing Obama and the US for supporting Morsi and the MB.

Re: This Is Who Obama Supports in Egypt

Exactly who is it that he supports?

The people being thrown or the people doing the throwing?

Why do you think he supports the people you think he supports?

Last I checked, he supported the government that was freely elected by the citizens of their own country.

The Egyptian election was a victory for democracy-- even if the people made a mistake in our eyes. I wish that Morsi had simply resigned or maybe forced out by their Parliament, or recalled by an organized election.

Egypt is in a very dangerous spot right now. I hope the calmer heads prevail over there, or there will be senseless and merciless bloodshed.

Egypt could use some bloodshed...as long as it is the blood of the Muslim Brotherhood and Morsi's backers.

In Egypt, Obama supports Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood. He not only congratulated them when elected, but he's given BILLIONS to Egypt to help support them.

The past couple years since Morsi was elected, he's become worse than Mubarak. Finally, last week the people rose up and the military took him out of power.

Obama has refused to acknowledge or even support this event.

Those people who stormed the building -- the one's who threw the youth off the ledge are supporters of Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood...the one's Obama supports.

Yes, Morsi was elected, however we demanded one dictator resign and be replaced with another one who was just as bad, if not worse.

Obama is making the same mistake in Syria, where he's supporting Syrian rebels who are unabashedly aligned with AQ. He's aligned with McCain, who's been looking for any excuse to start another war, and is now sending spec ops and weapons into Syria.

I understand you love Obama and nothing I post will change your opinion; not even if the video showed Obama himself shoving those kids off the ledge. You would find some reason or excuse to give Obama a pass.

The majority of the 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. Yet, you still see Bush running around with there leaders.

I'm not a fan of W, either. He set a lot of precedents for what Obama has done and expanded upon.

Not only does the US give Saudi Arabia too much, DHS is about to give people flying in from Saudi Arabia a fast track through customs. Currently the Netherlands, Mexico, Canada and South Korea are the only one's who are able to bypass normal security in customs after giving fingerprints and passports. Not even Israel, Germany, France or Great Britain enjoy that kind of status.

He "supported" the democratically elected President of their country-- the first for their country, and gave their country billions in aid.

We used to support the Egyptian government in the same fashion when they had a dictator.

Morsi was only in power for about a year.

However, the money we gave to Egypt was to Egypt, not to the Muslim Brotherhood.

We didn't demand that Mubarrak resign, his citizens did.

Re: This Is Who Obama Supports in Egypt

As for Syria, the American government stood on the sidelines for much of their civil war.

Once Assad used chemical weapons against his own citizens, that's when we stepped in to support some of the rebels.

Then again, there were GOP people criticizing the President for not getting involved in Syria.

Where's the proof of this chemical weapon attack? You have some news reports saying Assad's forces used cw's in attacks; then there are other news reports saying the REBELS which Obama is supporting as the one's using the cw's. There's not enough evidence to do anything if we should do anything, and we shouldn't. This is a Syrian issue. We most definitely should NOT be giving arms to the rebels who are aligned with AQ.

The one's from the GOP wanting action are the typical warmongers, McCain and Graham being the most vocal. The two most bloodthirsty, send the troops to war men in the Senate.

You're correct, I read wrong....Morsi was sworn in June, 2012.

The money given to Egypt goes to who is in power. Before last weekend, that was Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood. In 2012, after Morsi was elected and the Muslim Brotherhood took control of the government, the US sent 450 million in cash to the government. This year we were supposed to have sent 1.5 BILLION to them...I don't know if that has occurred yet or not.

Obama blew it on Egypt. He stood with Mubarak until Mubarak offered a transition, then demanded he step down immediately to begin a transition. He then supported Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood, which was in fact worse than Mubarak.

Now he doesn't know what to do. He doesn't want to call a coup a coup, because that would freeze any money from being sent to Egypt, so he puts himself above the law to circumvent what he signed into law.
