IRS scandal shows why we need the FAIR TAX

This is a point I've tried to raise with MANY that just seems to go over their heads.


Taxing income is what gives the Federal Government the power to blackmail, punish enemies, and reward friends. The only reason we have to petition to be "non-profit organizations" is because income is taxed. Stop taxing income, and the Federal Government has no more power to speak of over the church. The elimination of the Federal income tax (corporate and private) would be HUGE for religious liberty in this country.

Is this not a good enough reason for pastors and religious organizations to start demanding the FAIR TAX ??

I concur with you on this. The enforcement agency would be 1/100th the size of the IRS. I would personally prefer a sales tax, but failing that, a flat income tax rate that has no exemptions, loopholes, etc., and is withheld by employers. No filings, no paperwork, no audits, etc.

It will never work.
How else can politicians rant about "everyone" paying their fair share while they make hundreds of thousands of dollars, go on tax payer funded vacations and then only pay 17% while hard working middle class folks pay 25-30% while making a fraction of what the politicians bring home. That is if they pay taxes at all...
