New Interpretation of Woman's Authority

1 Timothy 2:11-13

King James Version (KJV)

11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.


the nrsv reads the same, but in the footnotes says "wife" and "husband" should be used instead of "woman" and "man". so it should read:


Let the wife learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a wife to teach, nor to usurp authority over the husband, but to be in silence.


what do you think of this translation of the scripture?

It is quite obvious that a person would be better hearing from a woman who knows what she's talking about when considering the things of God versus a man who does not. Then there is the added Scripture to consider where Paul says he and the others “speak in a mystery” that when added to the former sheds some light on the "mystery".

In regards to gender the soul is always the woman and the spirit is the man. Therefore, what Paul is saying the soul with all its fleshly desires needs to be kept quiet so we may be led by the Holy Spirit of God that is our free gift of salvation.

When you take what I just said and apply it to the laws of who can marry who (concerning the high priests), and who can have sex with who and apply these laws to the spirit and soul of man versus the spirit and soul of Jesus Christ gives you a very important key to the kingdom.

For that matter all of the keys to the kingdom are hidden in the law and the words of the prophets.
