Was The Crucifixion Political?

was the kingdom of God that Jesus preached a political threat to rome? he was crucified as King of the Jews. Is that a political statement to the christian movement? Should our christianity be a political threat to the powers that be?

Dm I find the Cross to be political in that it was not the Roman Government who feared Jesus but the Religious leaders.

They were a political party in some ways.

From a sin and salvation standpoint the Jews and the gentiles hold equal responsibility but from a political standpoint Pilate appeased the Jewish leadership.
