No Exceptions to the Right to Bear Arms?

Interesting article about the Right to Bear Arms, the Founding Fathers, Courts, and history.

What are your thoughts?

Interesting. Like the author says, the 4th Amendment used the word "reasonable" which has resulted in all manner of court interpretations in regards to searches. The 2nd Amendment used the phrase "shall not be infringed". Kind of black and white if you ask me.

Re: No Exceptions to the Right to Bear Arms?

I disagree with the assessment of the 2nd Amendment rights in that article. The Amendment was written specifically to guard against tyranny. Read the documents written by the Forefathers and you'll see that.

In any case...you can't have the Executive Branch of Government and the Judicial Branch of Government changing this 2nd Amendment as it becomes a Monarchy in so doing.

See this short video... I wish I could get EVERYONE to watch this video. She is absolutely correct.

Loved her analysis of the DOJ's White Paper:

She cites Napolitano’s report, which includes us all commenting on this thread:

Quote:
What about the fact that the government has already redefined who is a “terrorist”? Just look at Janet Napolitano’s report, as head of the Department of Homeland Security, warning America regarding who is a terrorist; "rightwing extremists" concerned about illegal immigration, abortion, increasing federal power and restrictions on firearms – and returning war veterans.

“Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly anti-government, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.”

Our founders knew that in a government that has the ability to define the enemy, and the uninhibited inclination to define its own citizens as terrorists, tyranny is already established. Unrestrained power of the government must be continually checked against the Liberty of the people.
