Have You Been Baptized In Jesus Name Ad Campaign

Today I meandered about 150 miles on my motorcycle around the Nashville area. I ended up in the Madison area and noticed about a mile from Turning Point UPC church a green billboard with the question "Have You Been Baptized In Jesus Name?" then beneath that simply: www.mysoulquestions.com

Then when I passed the church I saw the same advertisement on a banner attached to the fence near the church.

Is this an official UPC ad campaign or something else?

That domain is owned by a church.

Interesting. GPC is Zuniga's church which is nearby, a few miles away. Perhaps both churches are using the ad campaign or perhaps Zuniga owns the concept and is offering it to other churches and Turning Point is one of them utilizing it.

St. Matthew is a Zunigaite so he should know.

I tried to get Bishop1 to post his 40 reasons to be baptized story here. I will send him the link.

I don't think it's a national campaign. I like the concept. Get the message out. Throw out the seed. It is time we stop worrying whether we can shepard all the results of our evangelism and just preach the word.

I agree with this!!!!!!

Just let the word do what it's supposed to do!!! It will take root and they will find who they need to find at the right time.

I visited this church one time with some UPC folks and although the preacher was the stereotypical screamer preoccupied with an immediate response from the audience (and we all know how that drives me nuts), he had a good message (when you could concentrate and keep track of the content in the midst of the cheerleading).

It was also obvious from that visit that this church has a great burden to reach the unchurched. There were posters to that effect around the church and while I don't remember the particulars of the annoucements I remember that a lot of it had to do with outreach efforts.

I think the billboard advertising campaign is a good idea and exectued well as far as the billboards go. I have not had time to check out the website people are directed to.

The concept is a good one in my opinion as it melds old advertising methods (billboard) with new ones (World Wide Web).
