Dems Are Less Enthusiastic Than in 2008

From a transcript of a recent Britt Hume commentary

Quote:
Polls continue to show the race tied or Mr. Obama slightly ahead. But other surveys point distinctly in another direction. One out today from the Hill newspaper gives Mitt Romney an edge with voters on three key qualities: sharing their values, being a stronger leader and being more honest and trustworthy. What's more, 93 percent of voters in this poll said policies and competence were more important than likablity, that's an area, of course, where Mr. Obama has enjoyed a large advantage.

Add to that the Rasmussen survey in which voters by 62 percent to 30 said economic growth was more important to them than economic fairness. Fairness, of course, is a major theme of Mr. Obama and his party. With his attacks on Mitt Romney's business record and his repeated and unsubtle appeals to elements of his party's base, Mr. Obama is clearly shooting for a big Democratic turnout in November.

But Gallup reports that the number of Democrats who say they are more enthusiastic about voting this year is at 39 percent, down from 61 percent four years ago. 51 percent of Republicans, meanwhile, said they are more enthusiastic this year, that is up from 35 per cent in 2008.

looking at the electoral college obama has 237 votes from blue states. if obama wins florida, it's over. all he will need is new hampshire and romney can win ohio, virginia, wisconsin, nevada, colorado, iowa, north carolina and still lose. florida is the prize and mitt romneys medicare stance is the key issue. mccain won a majority of seniors in 08, i believe obama will do much better this time around. pennslyvania is also key. a short video of this analysis by chuck todd:

What do they have to be excited about? Marxism? I'm excited... because no matter who wins they can only do as much damage to this republic as God allows...

Most seniors have brains and they understand that their benefits WON'T CHANGE for current recipients and for those 55 and older. They can see through the lies of the Obama campaign that says that Romney and Ryan want to change their Medicare into a voucher program. It's a lie. And seniors love their kids and grandkids enough they are willing to vote to see a change that will save SS and Medicare. Obama's plan is to do nothing. Doing nothing means those programs will go bankrupt in the future.

Florida will go for Romney. So will the election. DM, Obama's gonna lose handily. This election will be about him. Not skinny dippers, or goofy Senate candidates, or Romney's taxes, or Ryan's voting record. It will be about the past four years of an Obama administration that has failed to produce the promises they made concerning the ECONOMY.

ECONOMY, ECONOMY, ECONOMY, ECONOMY---get that through your head!!!!!!

It's a one issue campaign, and Obama will be on the losing end of it!

I think Americans understand that a recovery from a Bush recession is gonna take more than 3 years and that Obama has us on the right path while Romney wants to go back to the Bush policies that started this mess with tax cuts for the rich instead of taxing the wealthy to pay down the deficit.

issues like akin and ryan on abortion and medicare will turn out women and seniors and increase margins in our favor. women, seniors, minorities and liberal white men are our coalition against conservative neanderthals like yourself and others on this board with the exception of libertarians that I would whole heartedly support.

romney and ryan support a voucher program for medicare. it is in the ryan's budget. and romney says he would sign a ryan budget. look it up.

Yes vouchers for people like me. That's fine, it's a viable means to save the program. The lie is that current seniors will have their benefits changed.

Obama PROMISED that he would turn things around and he hasn't. And your understanding of what caused the recession is abysmal. Tax cuts caused the recession? Hahaha! You need to do some research. And wipe the Kool aid stain off your mouth while you're at it.

i know tax cuts didn't cause the recession, but tax cuts with 2 unpaid wars and an unpaid medicare benefit caused a large deficit and a credit downgrade. romney wants to pay down the deficit by cutting benefits of the poor and seniors while giving more tax cuts to the rich. not the right direction.

and yes vouchers for those under 55 would increase the costs of healthcare for future seniors. seniors know the importance of preserving this benefit.

DM, please enlarge on this! Under whose administration did this happen and why did they do it in Obama's tenure? I hope God doesn't hold you accountable for all of the false things you post!
