Wow the first three or four translations I saw were horrible.
Put very literally, imo. I know you were TIC in your pic, Sam.
What translation best expresses the real meaning of these verses, do (you) think?
Because I dislike this reinforcement of so literal a translation
of a spiritual cause.

OK, what's your interpretation? Not a literal mark? Not literally required for literal buying and selling?

Hebrews 13:23 Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty
Well, let me just say that when
satan, who at least controls "the beast"
of these verses, "makes one to..." do something,
he generally does so by spiritual means, and not temporal.
We are in a spiritual war, not a temporal one,
and you may be utterly confident that a sign
is given us here; by definition, because
common opinion overwhelmingly looks for
a temporal mark, this is exactly what will not happen.
This is a lie, propagated as sleight-of-hand.
"...on their hand" surely is "what they do,"
and "on their forehead" is "what they think."
One will not be able to buy or sell without
thinking or doing evil.

So the mark is figurative, and the buying and selling is, I guess, literal?
