Cool Any use for old Cassette tapes and VHS tapes?

I have boxes of old tapes. I hate to just throw them away.

The VHS are home recorded movies and tv shows.

The cassette tapes are mainly preaching but a few are music.

Wink Re: Any use for old Cassette tapes and VHS tapes?

Can they be recycled?

Will I need to buy a larger trash can?

Same situation here. I have a bunch of the older Christian music on cassette as well as some preaching tapes. Cant hardly bear to let them go but never have time to listen.

There is fairly inexpensive (in some cases free open source) software that will let you transfer them to your computer where you can clean the sound up and then burn them to cd. Audacity is what I use. Fairly user friendly but packed with editing options.

Over time both VHS and audio cassettes decay. Particularly if they have not been stored in a climate controlled area. If you have any with content that is precious to you I would suggest you digitize them by burning the video to DVD's or a media file and the cassettes to CD's or media files.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I was kidding about the CD's.

Just last week I actually listened to some worship music on a cassette in our van and a couple days ago listened to a couple music CD's in our truck.
