"God fights my battles but... "
"God fights my battles, but I don't look for battles that can't be won."
Would anyone care to comment on this quote? It was said in reference to a particular evil in our society, but you can elaborate on this quote from your angle too.

Didn't know there was a battle God couldn't win. Maybe would have been better to say, "I don't look for battles that WON'T be won" .

Re: "God fights my battles but... "
i guess it depends on what the battle is. Many times we are not looking for a battlle, the battle comes to us,

Re: "God fights my battles but... "
IF we believe that Christ rose from the grave, and conquered sin and death for us, then it goes against everything that we believe that there is any battle that He cannot win.
Now, if you are talking about demon possession, remember that even the devils believe and know who Jesus is. Problem is, they recognize who has the authority to cast them out, and if you are not filled with the Spirit of Jesus, they will not respond to you at all. The disciples could not cast out spirits, heal, or do any miraculous works, until Jesus gave them the power and authority to do so.
Perhaps this person is saying that they don't have the true spirit of Christ living in them, the only thing to come against the pricipalities and rulers of darkness in spiritual warfare and battles, over whom Christ has fought and won the victory at Calvary.

KBTW, I don't know; that might be a little unfair-
there are spiritual battles yet to fight,
that could not reasonably be won right now,
although some groundwork might be laid.
(I'm thinking, like, my position on politics, etc.)
T2W, you reflect "Satan is Scared of Armeggedon" to me, amen.

I know God is omnipotent and there are very few things I have trouble conceiving of him being able to do. Probably the hardest one is for me to believe that he understands women.
It just seems so fantastical that anyone could do that. However I will believe that by faith.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I am constrained from agreeing with you
only out of an overwhelming desire to
remain fractious with you; hmm.
