What IS Democracy?

Today , when we speak of democracy it does not carry the same meaning as it did several years ago.

Today it means Democratic Socialism.

When you hear the term progressive ,they really mean regressive Marxist principles and
values aimed at stripping all citizens here and abroad of our God given rights of freedom,
liberty, personal achievement and the right to worship God.

Re: What IS Democracy?

Maybe it is just due to the man in office. I registered to vote, "for the first time in along time" but i dont care for either of the choices, so basically since regan i agree its been going backwards..

i wish they would stop funding countries billions of dollars so we can bomb them with a clear mind, and instead turn to fix the issues on the home front. all that money could start up jobs to help make this country even better.

Just my thoughts

The jobs are in China because we prefer to buy Chinese junk over American products.

We all want high wages but don't want to pay the higher price for American made products. I.o.w. we are cutting our own throats.

And the guy in the White House even makes it worse.
This country is sliding down hill and faster and faster.

Foreign policy stinks, "American" used to be a nice word around the world.
Not anymore these days.

Ok, well to me, Democracy = Politics,
but so that the principles of Democracy-
-whose definitions seem to be so fungible-
-may be fully revealed...

Re: What IS Democracy?

Democracy is the will of the majority imposed on the minority.

I'll qualify that.
It is based on the votes as reported and may reflect the will of only those who voted or it may reflect fraudulent vote counters.

Someone else said:
Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what they are going to do for lunch.

Re: What IS Democracy?

It's better than a couple of 1000 telling millions what to do.

Re: What IS Democracy?

A couple million divided by a couple thousand = .1% hmm...
I'd agree with you Dordt, if your characterization there
didn't seem to be the closest approx yet?
