A better name more fitting. Just a thought.

Nah, we're still Apostolic and Friends.

Re: Ex-Apostolic Friends Forum?

I'm still Apostolic, I'm just not oneness Pentecostal.

Remember the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ was a visible, vibrant and growing Church long before the oneness Pentecostals came along in 1913 with their subsequent attempt to claim the self-labeled exclusivity of "Apostolic" in their identity.

Oneness Pentecostals aren't "The Apostolics", no matter how much you claim it and say it. Oneness Pentecostals aren't the sole representatives of the Church of Jesus Christ on earth, like it or not. The body of Christ is much much larger than the little latter day sects within oneness Pentecostalism.

Though I really don't enjoy brandishing denominational labels, I am OP. A moderate OP, but certainly not anything of an EX all the same.

Must agree to a certain extent....although the tone seems to have improved . Some of the crazies are gone.

I was on here a long time ago and simply got sick of it. Have occasionally viewed as a guest and decided to give it one more whirl.

Going to try to be a nice guy.....

Having you on here gives it at least a measure of redemption.

there are different beliefs in the Op world other than your own, just because people disaagree on how people perceive things or interpret things, doesnt mean they are not apostolic.

Re: Ex-Apostolic Friends Forum?

We each have our own personal definition of what it means to be "Apostolic"
and we each make sure that definition includes our personal opinions on the Scriptures

Re: Ex-Apostolic Friends Forum?

In February 2007 our Admins posted this as a unity statement

"At AFF our intention is to recognize and allow all viewpoints that exist within the "Apostolic" genre. We recognize that Apostolic includes faith in Jesus Christ, a Oneness view of the Godhead, baptism in Jesus name, and the experience of the baptism of the Holy Spirit with tongues.

Within the genre we have divergent views on the place of these in Soteriology.

So too we recognize that a view of outward Holiness is common to the genre of Apostolic.... "
