Credit Cards

My husband and I have not carried a basic credit card in a long time. We have considered lately getting one though, just to have when we go places, so as not to carry cash or have to use our debit cards. Can anyone suggest a good reputable credit card to apply for that does not charge yearly fees and such? We get offers from Discover all the time. What's your opinion of that one in particular? Thanks.

Re: Credit Cards

I use these people and have for 35 years.

I have veered in the past using other bank credit cards and been burnt by the others. So now I cut up all other cards and use BancorpSouth only.

Re: Credit Cards

I have a card from Bank of America, US Bank, and Chase. I ONLY use the US Bank one, but I use it for almost ALL purchases because it gets 1% cash back on most things (and 2 and 3 on others). It is 5-20 bucks a month in free money I wouldn't otherwise see.

Re: Credit Cards

Two of those banks I would never use because I have been burnt by their deceptive practices.

Re: Credit Cards

We have used Discover for years - love the cash back rewards!

Have never had any problems!!! We use it for literally everything and pay it off at the end of the month.

Re: Credit Cards

I have one credit card -Chase Southwest Visa

I use it for everything (including tithes)! I get enough points for four free roundtrip flights per year. My yearly cost - $35. Not a bad trade off!

BTW, I pay it off every month so I pay NO interest!

Re: Credit Cards

I just redeemed our Discover cash-back bonus for some restaurant gift cards (they are worth $50, cost $45, so a bit of a bonus, there) and a $400 statement credit. It's been accumulating for a while.
