I can hear the music in my head from American Bandstand.

I can too! Then Barry Manilow wrote those lyrics to go with it later!

I used to dance right along with all those kids on American Bandstand!

RIP Mr Clark.

Re: Dick Clark Dies at 82

When I was a little kid, my aunts and uncles used to dance in the living room to the music on American Bandstand. They would pick me up and dance with me all over the place. I remember thinking that Dick Clark was the cutest guy ever (remember tho - I was only about 4 years old)

You wouldn't know since you don't watch/believe in TV.

For many years, at least since I was a kid, he always hosted the NYE countdown shows at Times Square. I've seen him only a few places elsewhere in entertainment, but mainly on NYE. Others who are a few years ahead of me have seen him much more in other programs.

It was only last NYE (2011) that I learned he had a stroke a few years ago and wasn't in very good health...

Jay most likely is just not old enough to remember Dick Clark. His parents most likely do and probably new about American Bandstand. Even if you don't have tv you hear about things that are popular on tv. I don't own a tv now, and I hear about tv shows all the time.

I remember the game show "Pyramids" he was host of. That was a fun game.
Seems like he hosted some blooper type show one time too.

That was what I was aiming for. The too young to remember phrase.

I truly did not even know who he was until a few days ago, and I am certain that within a few days I shall forget again entirely.
