Accuser of the brethren

Ok....I guess 'Deep Waters' is an appropriate/almost 'poetic' place to post this. What I risk here, is to speak about 'accusing the brethren'....without myself being 'the accuser'. So I will keep it brief.
I pray to God that my 'religion' is never based on/'preoccupied with' condemnation of how others believe. I am not saying that all faiths come to the Lord in Spirit and Truth. What I am saying is, I need to make sure 'I' am coming to Him in Spirit and truth....and be a light a beacon of that truth....it is not my job, (Thank God) to go around condemning everyone.
We have all seen political candidates whose platform seems based only on throwing dirt at the other politicans. I personally will not vote for such a man. I do not want to focus on what is 'bad' about the 'other guy'....I want to hear what is 'good' about the 'good guy'.

Re: Accuser of the brethren

Something of revelance I have heard, is actually about teaching bank tellers to detect conterfeit money. They do not waste much time teaching about the fakes....there are too many. They are more productive focusing on identifying 'the real thing'.
Typically.....I think many people who are always condemning....are 'grasping'....and probably have not yet found the real thing.

Yes, but what is the litmus test for the real thing? Every denomination and religion claim that too... that they are the only ones with "IT" all figured out.

Hmmm. I agree with your thought that to detect anything counterfeit, you indeed must know the genuine product first. The question is in this particular instance, what exactly constitutes that?

I like your statement, in that you said you don't want to go around condemning anyone because they don't believe exactly as you do.

What we are taught in the new testament writings is to not believe anyone or anything that does not confess or believe that Jesus Christ was the son of God manifested in the flesh.

I John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Re: Accuser of the brethren

It is the spirit of antichrist that we must protect ourselves from, and stay away from. Anything that would lift up and proclaim anything other than Jesus Christ, is an antichrist. That can be a wide range of things....

Re: Accuser of the brethren

Yup, the focus is placed anywhere but fruit, usually.

But this characterization just toads the wet sprocket, KBTW, see what this focuses on. I am hedged from this, and do not fear this at all. It can not harm a hair on my head. It is scared of me, and Life, more abundantly. Augustine, to his dismay, has been used to forward an agenda in the Christian mind that could not even be explained cogently in the Council of Trent, and we have been parroting it ever since.

http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?tit...&oldid=7193158

is the original, but as this website (in the url) is run by professed atheists, this article is quickly being edited out of existence now. By really well-meaning people. Judge for yourself.

My point here would be that this should be running from you, as a Christian, and should not really even be much on your radar--as heretical as that might sound. I spend my day planting seeds, little mustard seeds, they don't involve quoting Scripture (literally anyway), or the common idea of "leading "someone to Christ...just growing stuff. Mostly just being approachable, emotionally available.

It will run satan off, and attract people in droves. If you sin, repent, BAM, but if this is a recurring, daily thing in your life? You're planting seeds all day, and sinning too? Then I would def say take a look at that, and determine why or whatever, but that this does not characterize what Christians should be demonstrating in their everyday walk.

This leads to preparing for Armageddon, imo (I don't think I could stop this if I tried), putting up extra veggies and whatnot, just like everyone else, actually it's quite normal...

I don't know, a new Christian maybe should worry here? But no, a new Christian should be attracted by the fruit of your theology, nothing more or less, and be guided by it. Although they will surely be tested, and tempted, all that, remember back to your early temptations--you were completely aware all the way through it, you weren't unconscious or anything, and you don't do that sin now because the fruit was death.

This is our focus because we misunderstand the creative force we are supposed to be focusing on, imo, it has been suppressed.
