Jury Duty

Has anyone here served as a juror? I am just wondering what it is like since I will be on call for jury duty in March. I have never done jury work before and was wondering if it was boring or not.

Re: Jury Duty

I used to regret it when I get the summons in the mail..I have been lucky of enough to not have been picked BUT the past two times I have been selected and served through a 1 day trial..it was kind of interesting,it is like watching TV..The last time I was picked and selected it took two days to weed through who would qualify..I was not qualified due to my profession as the case involved something in that field. The case would have lasted a few WEEKS!! we were told..yikes..I enjoyed the time away from my job and was still getting paid and the court system even throws you a few bones..Just to mention how it works in my city..does not matter if you are religious, prejudice or against killing..they heard it all and it will not get you out of it..LOL..Have fun if picked and try to enjoy, pack something to read..and grab a snickers bar..

Been on three: murder, drunk driving, kidnapping. 2 went the distance.

Re: Jury Duty

I did one time. It was over land. The other party never showed so it was thrown out. Bummer! LOL!
Actually, I do not ever want to serve as a juror again.
There are lots and lots of people who LOVE doing that sort of thing.
Let them do it!

Re: Jury Duty

The local government just needs to make jury duty sound more exciting. The letter you receive needs to say "You have been summoned to the Hall of Justice to sit on the Council of Vengeance!"

You just kill me sometimes.

I have never been shanghaied into jury duty, and all things working together to my good, I will never be.

Re: Jury Duty

Served on a rape trial. Trial took a full week. It was very interesting - but would not want to serve on that type of trial again.
