We are on a small farm that raises miniature cattle, heritage hogs and poultry and lots of really great heirloom veggies. I milk and make cheese and soap and can and preserve most of our food.
I would love to find others who live the country life or plan to someday.
Currently? No. But i am not far removed from it. Most all my siblings are on small plots and have animals, and several are dairy farmers.

I am a firm believer in the Old Paths
Articles on such subjects as "The New Birth," will be accepted, whether they teach that the new birth takes place before baptism in water and Spirit, or that the new birth consists of baptism of water and Spirit. - THE PENTECOSTAL HERALD Dec. 1945
"It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves
Wow that is neat. You're probably the healthiest person on here, living on your own produce.
I was raised on a 400+ acre farm, beef cattle, Horses, a milk cow, chickens, and hogs from time to time...large garden yearly.
I've lived in town almost every since I was a kid, tho. I miss living in the country, but I don't miss all the many responsibilities that generally go with farming.
Someday we may have a small setup. Raise a beef to butcher annually, maybe buy a horse or two. We have a 13 acre all open field patch of land to possibly someday build on etc..
Time will tell...

My Dad spent some of his life on a farm, my Grandpa was raised on a farm, my other Grandpa owned farmland and horses in MO. I am however happy with city life, although a small town would not bother me either.

We do a fair amount of shooting out in the back pasture. We often host Monday- Gun day and have friends over to practice target shooting.
I was raised in Los Angeles and my husband was raised in Houston proper. We came to country life one piece at a time with a small suburban homestead and now the farm. I love this life and most days stand on my front porch and survey how the Lord has blessed and still can not believe that this is MY life!
Randy, why do you say you would not go back, if you don't mind sharing? My youngest (of five sons) says he would like to spend a few years in a highrise in NYC. My oldest son has a PhD in international business and travels a lot. The other boys have good educations too but love simple life... maybe not as simple as us (we live in a 1931 farmhouse with a big stove for heat) but not too crazy busy.
I really enjoy milking the cows and goats and making cheese, butter, ice cream. I have several families that get food here, all sweet Christian folk. One a medical doctor and one a janitor at the local school... a nice mix. My wonderful husband will retire on to this place in the next few years and I will work off farm forever I think as I love my job in a medical clinic.
We have a website for the farm if anyone would be interested in seeing it

I PM'd it to you shag... my husband asked me not to post it publicly here after I got called stupid and some other unkind things were said today. He said he doesn't want that kind of meaness showing up in my email inbox. I guess being older we are just kind of not used to all that stuff any more. It is posted on my cow forum but I feel a lot safer there, cow people are nicer than religious people I guess
