Revival in Middle School
The Middle School in a nearby town let our youth band and youth pastor come and minister this morning to FCA. There were over 200 kids there, and 44 gave their lives to the Lord today!! I'm so excited that a public school allowed this!

Re: Revival in Middle School
Just a question.
How does one give their life to the Lord?

I guess this was directed at Sherri, but here are a few thoughts of mine:
Acts 20
20 And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house,
21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
I would say "giving your life to the Lord" means repentance TOWARD God and then putting your FAITH in the person of Jesus Christ.
Every other thing (water baptism, communion, Holy Ghost baptism, etc) stems from one putting their faith in Jesus Christ. So, if a person is "giving their life to the Lord", then such a person is declaring Jesus as their Lord, ergo believing in the Lord Jesus.
The person is saying "Lord, be the director of my life and no longer me"
1 Peter 4
1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. (I would say this is giving your life to the Lord)
3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

Thanks.
But, yes, you are correct. I was really wondering what the kids did at the school to give their lives to the Lord.
I'm not condemning anyone. I'm just curious.

This is great! Do you expect the school admin to receive any backlash?

"surrender" to Him
or
"dedicate" to Him
or
"consecrate" to Him
or
"submit" to Him
or
"open up" to Him
or
"yield" to Him
or
"turn from sin and turn" to Him
or
"accept" Him as Lord and Savior
There may be other expressions which could be used.....

Re: Revival in Middle School
All it takes is for one kid from one liberal family to tell his parents and that school is going to have the ACLU all over it.

Titus2woman on AFF
"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Alrighty then.
It appears that a "nevermind" is in order.
