Chances are there are some members of this forum who have served in active military in the past, and if you did that is between you and God considering any possible actions you had to take that were contrary to Christian principle.
But does anyone here believe Christians should NOT be involved in the military?
Re: Should Christians Be Involved in the Military?
I have a friend who thinks if Christians serve in the military they should try to do it in a helping capacity, like ministry, first aid, communications, stuff like that.
Personally, I think there were some wars that were worth fighting. Other wars I'm not sure I understand the value of them.
My son was 82nd Airborne, and I am very proud of his service to our country.
My Dad also served.
I'm thankfull to those who have served are are serving.

Dante, if you search a little on the forum you will find a lot of posts on this subject. I think the Bible clearly shows that just war and just justice does not violate the commandment about not committing murder. The Old Testament makes this clear.
I respect other opinions on this subject (well, not really LOL) but I am thankful the pacifist wing of Christendom has not prevailed through history or we would probably all be speaking German today and there certainly would not be a United States of America.

Titus2woman on AFF
"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Sounds like too much work. Besides, it is easier for me to ask this question again considering I'm new to this forum and was not aware this topic had been discussed.
Re: Should Christians Be Involved in the Military?
Thank you Amanah.
Dante, there is room in the service for all spiritual paths as long as they are true to
our country.
As far as violating the path of Jesus, no, I do not find that to be an issue.
Should one choose to follow Jesus as a pacifist, there are still many things that you
can do in the services.
As for myself, I was a witch when I went in, and a follower of Jesus when I came out
10 years later.
