I already am dealing with Trinitarians. Thanks for the offer though.

Re: Oneness Debates On Facebook.

What is the point in debating trinitarians? Are you trying to convince yourself of your position, or them? Through debate have you been able to persuade a trinitarian to your understanding of the Godhead?

I dialogue with trinitarians quite often, and we mutually agree that arguing over our respective view of the Godhead is futile. However, I do seem to plant small seeds of truth among my trinitarian friends, and I've laughed at how those seeds have begun to grow among them as they are starting to see clearly the mighty God in Christ.

Has debating trinitarians been reduced to sport, though? That is the looming sense in this thread.

Eh, you have some good points about that. Whenever I am talking to Trinitarians about the Godhead, I am trying to explain my understanding to them. The most annoying thing to me is to be told how well I have explained the Trinity, and that they have never had it explained better. That just burns me up.

They may be saying that just to spite you and get under your skin.

I might agree with you, if the fact was that it came from not differnent people who did not even know one another and were quite sincere. I tried not to let it show that I felt like a failure, but that is the way it works. However, since I have started using only the Bible for my argument, they have a much harder time misunderstanding and/or resisting me.

That's the key right there! It's difficult to argue with the source of authority.

Re: Oneness Debates On Facebook.

It does have a way of shutting them down. I blew my best friend's mind one day when I told him that I was an Apostolic Pentecostal. He had no idea that the two terms were synonomous. I then explained that I am Pentecostal in experience and Apostolic in doctrine. He had never heard anything like that in his whole life.

No, he is not Oneness.

Re: Oneness Debates On Facebook.

Lord willing tonight 11-16-2011 I will be hosting a voice active chat room at Paltalk.com. The name of the room will be "Oneness Invites Trinitarians For Discussion". It will not be a formal debate as Im sure more than one person from each camp will want to speak.

The format will be I will be presenting why I believe in Oneness. Anyone else may come to the mic and speak on the topic. There may be Arians, Unitarians, and Binitarians there as well. All will be given 4-5 minutes mic time each time they come to speak. I am exempt from this rule.

To participate one needs speakers so they can hear and a mic if they wish to speak. You would need to sign up on Paltalk.com which is free. Then go to room categories and click Religon and Spirituality then hit "Christian". There will be anywhere from 60-100 rooms open at any given time.

Go down the list of rooms until you see the room name click on it and you will be in the room. Sometimes just a few people come in and out other times it may turn into a large room.

Starting time will be around 5:30 pm EST. My name in the room will be Michael Gibson. The room will last until either there is no further interest or as long as my throat holds up.

Re: Oneness Debates On Facebook.

This particular page on Facebook is really more of a discussion page, than it a debate so much even if the word debate is used.It is moderated by folks on both sides of the issue.

I started not to go there myself, because these sort of things can get ugly.
But there are guidelines and these issues are discussed in a kind way.
