I Will Rejoice!
"I've got the Holy Ghost, down in my soul, just like the Bible said.
I've got the Holy Ghost, down in my soul, just like the Bible said.
Well I've been to the water and I've been baptized.
My soul converted and I feel satisfied.
I wouldn't take nothing for my journey now.
Just like the Bible,
Just like the Bible,
Just like the Bible said."
Today has been a ROTTEN day at work as I realize that my two years of hardwork and jockeying for a key promotion within my office will not be enough for me to get promoted.
There is atleast 1 person with better skills and more education than me. It's a fact, it is what it is and it is VERY disappointing.
At lunch, I was thinking about it and was sad and disgusted, feeling a bit worthless.
Then I remembered the song above-- a song I learned in Okinawa.
It doesn't look like that promotion is coming my way, but I can rejoice in that I have a Savior!
I have a Father who loved me and loves me still, in spite of myself.
I have a Savior who thought I was worth His own life!
I have the Holy Ghost and fire and He's keeping me alive spiritually!
Thank You Jesus for Who You are!
For Who You are, what You've done and for what You haven't allowed!
Thank You Jesus!
HALLELUJAH!
I praise Your Holy Name!
There's no other GOD, no other Savior besides You!
You alone are HOLY and I will REJOICE!
"Come let us sing, let us REJOICE!
Come let us sing, let us REJOICE!
The Son has come and He's brough life,
and He put dancing in my soul!"
HALLELUJAH JESUS!!!

Re: I Will Rejoice!
Brother, there are people as frustrated as you just needing a job. You are tremendously blessed and things will fall into place in due time. God will always make a way for your gifts.

Re: I Will Rejoice!
It is GOOD that you can still Praise Him - even in the disappointing times!

Re: I Will Rejoice!
Jesus, bless my precious brother
bless him for rejoicing in you
and that he would know that what we have in you is more precious
then anything in this life
there is nothing in this life that we can take with us when we leave this world
aside from the hope that we have in you Jesus

German Davidson, I know you are disappointed and believe me we have all been there. It is ok to be sad and disgusted for a little while as long as you pick yourself back up and keep right on truckin'!
When you are trying to make yourself feel better think about what another poster on this thread said about a lot of people not having a job at all right now. My SIL has been unemployed for over a year now and he has a Masters degree!!!! Speaking of which you mentioned the other guy had more education and experience than you. Do you have a job that will pay for you to further your education to better position yourself for a promotion down the road?

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
