Here Comes the Bride...............
And she isn't wearing any Jewelry.
Rev 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
Rev 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
As opposed to the Harlot we read about in Chapter 17.
Rev 17:3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
Rev 17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
Why does the Bible close with a comparison of two women?
Why did the writer want us to know that the harlot was decked with gold?
Why do people think adornment is not important?
If you wear Jewelry, are you concerned that the Bride of Christ was without Jewelry?
And for those of you that think I am only concerned about the outward appearance, is it just a coincidence that the harlot (adorned with all that jewelry) also was named as a fornicator, unrighteous, etc.?
I thought Jewelry was a deterrent to fornication according to the Geniuses that were posting on the wedding ring thread?
Last but not least, do you dress like the harlot or the bride? Is your spirit like the harlot or the Bride?
Looks to me like a bad spirit, an unholy heart, and a jewelry wearer go together.
Any thoughts?

Oh, you may not like my response, but so be it. I have known women who follow all the so-called standards that I would not give a wooden nickle for for their snobbery, their pride, and outright arrogance. The bad spirit and unholy heart is usually from such a woman. The sister who is godly in heart and spirit, and wears jewelry, that is the kind of sister I can fellowship with.
You know, these UC standards some have are really a replacement methods. They seek to replace the missing power of God with man-made rules they can take glory in keeping.

What about the sister that does not wear jewelry and is Godly in her heart.
I was clear that it takes both.
It saddens me that sweet spirited women (and I know many, even in my own family) would take part in the harlots adornment.

Re: Here Comes the Bride...............
What is so sad is that UC look so much on the outer appearance, and yet refuses to see the purity of Christ in their heart. This is why I left the Pharisaical lifestyle to experience His grace.

Maybe you should study God's marriage to Israel, appearently God "adorned" His bride with jewelry, bracelets, necklaces, etc....
(NLT) Ezekiel 16:4 When you were born, no one cared about you. Your umbilical cord was left uncut, and you were never washed, rubbed with salt, and dressed in warm clothing. 5 No one had the slightest interest in you; no one pitied you or cared for you. On the day you were born, you were dumped in a field and left to die, unwanted. 6 "But I came by and saw you there, helplessly kicking about in your own blood. As you lay there, I said, 'Live!' 7 And I helped you to thrive like a plant in the field. You grew up and became a beautiful jewel. Your breasts became full, and your hair grew, though you were still naked. 8 And when I passed by and saw you again, you were old enough to be married. So I wrapped my cloak around you to cover your nakedness and declared my marriage vows. I made a covenant with you, says the Sovereign LORD, and you became mine. 9 "Then I bathed you and washed off your blood, and I rubbed fragrant oils into your skin. 10 I gave you expensive clothing of linen and silk, beautifully embroidered, and sandals made of fine leather. 11 I gave you lovely jewelry, bracelets, and beautiful necklaces, 12 a ring for your nose and earrings for your ears, and a lovely crown for your head. 13 And so you were made beautiful with gold and silver. Your clothes were made of fine linen and were beautifully embroidered. You ate the finest foods -- fine flour, honey, and olive oil -- and became more beautiful than ever. You looked like a queen, and so you were! 14 Your fame soon spread throughout the world on account of your beauty, because the splendor I bestowed on you perfected your beauty, says the Sovereign LORD.

Who are you referring to?
Do you know every Conservative?
You may disagree but what you are describing is running rampant with the liberals in our area. Their Pride, and arrogance, is very sad. They mock and make fun of those who have decided to live holy, both inward and outward.
How about dressing and acting like the bride.
The harlot was not described as someone on her way to heaven.

Whats sad is their treatment of the Word of God. If they were willing to truly examine the things they were taught whether they were "so", they would come away with a much different conclusion. But the "younger" generation is seeing that this is a masquarade which cannot withstand scrutiny, and re-evaluating some of these things. It is not that the "older" generation doesn't know this, as privately it is joked about or things are just accepting for the sake of getting along. Many have the attitude that they been in it so long why rock the boat, just finish out their days. I'm beginning to believe that MOST of the men who expouse these hard line UC doctrines don't honestly and sincerely believe them with all their heart, but because of pressure from their peers they suppress their real views. I'm speaking about preachers here, I think alot of the layman haven't really studied the issues out. They know the proof-text, and because of that they think their well studied, but I found out the hard way knowing and quoting proof text doesn't mean you know what the Word is actually communicating.

You don't see Gods anger? Read verse 17?
The children of Israel never could handle jewelry, what makes you think you can?
Why do you think Peter and Paul preached against it? Were they mean spirit radicals or men moved on by the Holy Ghost?
