Negative S&P ratings outlook for U.S.

By Steve Goldstein WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Standard & Poor's cut its ratings outlook on the U.S. to negative from stable while keeping its Triple-A rating on the world's largest economy. "More than two years after the beginning of the recent crisis, U.S. policymakers have still not agreed on how to reverse recent fiscal deterioration or address longer-term fiscal pressures," said Standard & Poor's credit analyst Nikola G. Swann. U.S. stock futures plunged on the news, with Dow industrial futures falling 167 points.

This won't even budge the left, wait and see.

The slowest of the slow will even one day desire solutions. You don't go to a doc for 2 years to just hear blame and diagnosis. One day you want treatments. A cure, medicine. When Obama spoke a week ago, he criticized the Conservatives. He offered no solution. We observe no progress or solutions. Obama can't show one deed to cut the deficit.

Hopefully this same patient hasn't waited too long.

My son's new business will suffer. He depends on loans for his customers, those just got harder.

I'm beginning to think most politicians are criminals on the loose.

One of my businesses 30 years ago depended on loans when interest rates were 20%. Consumers found it difficult to borrow money. My company grew by reason of market share and pushing competitors out of business that were old and established. I suspect Conservitives will gain a lot more victories in 2 years. Will Obama get the message?

3 years ago, many firms had no risk managers. The quants relied on some historical projections. CDO's CDS's and other novel products were optimistically rated. Obama needs to discover that the deficit is not only going up, but the interest rate on Gubment debt is rising soon. It will take hundreds of billions more just to pay the interest.

Obama is on a mission. This is the "change" he wanted.

The Saudi's are cutting back production.

Everything is different this go around, Coadie.

I have been told the Arabs are funding some of our greenie ventures. If they can get drilling boycotts, mining boycotts, it strengthens Arab OPEC market share.

Who would guess environmentalists are gullible and being played by OPEC?
