My 500th post

This is my 500th post. I've been thinking about what to say, and I debated about saying anything at all, as I saw this milestone approach. I'll keep it short and sweet.

When I signed up six months ago to take NOW up on his offer to hear from a homosexual in his DADT thread I never dreamed that I would still be here. Especially after my "warm" welcome thread which has to hold some kind of record for being the longest running and wildest welcome thread on AFF.

I don't post much and mostly only on the "lighter" threads but I do read most of the threads and posts on here.

Thanks to AFF, I've been exposed to discussions about things I've never thought about. Thanks to AFF, I have picked up my Bible and read it - something I have rarely done in the past 15 years. Thanks to AFF, I have prayed more and thought about God more in the last 6 months than I have in the last 15 years. Thanks to AFF, I've made a couple of friendships that I cherish.

I am not sure where I will ultimately end up but I consider myself in a better place than where I was 6 months ago. I know some of you have been praying for me because you've told me so. I want to publicly say Thank you once again, I appreciate it.

I want to close with something I posted in my welcome thread. Don't ever underestimate the power of AFF!

Great post Azzan. I was thinking about you yesterday...hadn't seen many post of late and was hoping you were okay. Keep up the reading and praying... that's what we all need to do, not just you! God speed and may the next 6 months be better than the past 6!

Where's that pic I found for NOW's 1000th post celebration... Ah, here it is!

J/K! Congrats, and I, for one, am glad you're here.

And that my friend is exactly why I went to bats for you on the welcome thread! Everyone needs someone and if one little action or post can make a difference in someone's life, then so be it!

BTW, what happened to your trip to Memphis?

Re: My 500th post

Glad to have you on AFF. Aren't you glad you can post with a witty, cute, insane person like me?

And congratulations on your 500th post. You need to catch up, my friend.

Yes, I do remember you, Prax and MissBrat (and I'm probably forgetting someone, my apologies) all going to bat for me. I was very impressed and I won't forget it as long as I live.

My trip to Memphis was in January, there was no personal time.

You are a good friend, Azzan and I have a ton of admiration and respect for you! Thank you for not running away and hiding. "You" (metaphorically) are the reason I have stayed and post as much as I do. You've taught me a lot and I'm glad you're here and glad you're a friend!
