Question Seeking the Baptism of the Holy Ghost

I pastor a church of about 35 people. I've been a member for 30 years and became pastor 8 months ago. Immediately the Lord impressed on me to seek the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I received the Holy Ghost in 1981 and have rarely seen anyone lead people to receive even though we are a pentecostal church. I've been listening to sermons by the late Pastor Billy Cole and have led the church accordingly. Thus far 3 people have received. I have become almost desperate over this subject wanting everyone to receive to the point some people (even tithers) have left but the Lord has not let up so were still pursuing Him. Would very much appreciate any advice anyone can give.

Thank you!

Is it just me or does it sound more like forcing God's hand? Shouldn't the Spirit be something that brings people together, natural, flowing, organic, authentic?

Sorry, Isaiah, but the way you described this, it sounds a little odd.

There are too many instances in the Book of Acts where they believed and spoke in tongues. Yes I speak in tongues and don't believe people receive Him without it. I look at the don't haves as those who have a form of righteousness but deny the power.
Thre lord said Hed give bus power over the enemies. How else do we walk in victory. He conpletes a supernatural wortk in us

Re: Seeking the Baptism of the Holy Ghost

The Holy Ghost is given directly by Jesus, so Jesus has to be real in us, not just a nice figment of our imagination. Mathew 3:11 "I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

You really have to believe Him to receive Him. And when you do; Mark 16;17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
