Yeah, I know I'm late in starting a thread about this news item, but it burns me up KNOWING what I felt I already knew:
the war in Iraq was built on lies from the very begining!
The evil men involved in this act as if they have no conscience!
Maybe they will continue to be evil and never ask God for forgiveness for their deeds so that they can get what they deserve.
The people involved in decisions of this magnitude are usually not in a place to reap their rewards in this life-- and that's why they do what they do. They shield themselves and thier families from the heartache that their wickedness causes. Still, there is a GOD and I just have to trust Him that He will get these less than human scumsuckers that agreed with a lie that has affected, not just thousands, but millions of people.

He should have his asylum revoked and be sent back to Iraq.
I still cannot fault Powell or Bush.
They went with the intel info provided them, as did the Congress.

I agree. If he done it because he wanted a free Iraq without Sadam then he should be made to return to what he asked for.

The thing is, when you're angry about something and it is not exactly clear who to blame, it only adds to the anger!
I don't know exactly who knew exactly what. I do know that this guy wasn't the only person who knew he was lying. My gut wasn't wrong before and it is not wrong now.

JD - from a historical perspective, we know that Saddam tried to build a nuclear reactor, until the Israelis took it out. We also knew that he had used chemical and biological weapons in his war with Iran and the Kurds.
Therefore he had the men, the material and the knowledge to have WMD's.
It's easy to Monday morning QB, but the Congress was also convinced.

The Iraq invasion was based on lies.

I am really trying to defend our leaders in this.
My wife had a relative that worked for Colin Powell for a long period of time, and he said that he was one of the most ethical and honest men that he had met.

The American government made a huge mistake and the American government needs to repent.

Don't ask me how we go about doing that though.
Unless God brings Hussein back from the dead, unmaims all who have been maimed, un-handicap all those with traumatic brain injuries, and unkills all those who have been killed, I don't know how it will EVER be made RIGHT!

I do believe the government made a mistake. But it was across the board. Bush 1 said they had them, Clinton said they had them, the UN said they had them, Bush 2 said they had them, etc etc.
It was faulty intelligence. I believe he was working toward getting them during Bush 1 and Clinton, but I believe he simply ran out of funds. That was the information we didnt get.
Many can be blamed. I blame Clinton for not going all the way the first time, I think that would cleared alot up and been easier then than later.
