Tough Love

Tough Love

Have you ever heard the term “tough love”?

I think our government needs some tough love.

For example:

1. Welfare needs to be revamped.
a. All applicants must be fingerprinted to stop duplicate issues of welfare.
b. Food stamps should have limits on what it can be used for; example no steaks, etc. but the type of food hard working people on a low income eat.
c. After two years on welfare, then mandatory training for a job to continue receiving benefits. People unable to work, should be on disability benefits.
2. Medicare needs to be revamped.
a. Set up parameters to stop abuse.
3. Maximum term for any political office should be limited to 4 years, with each term being only 2 years.
a. Hopefully, this would end career politicians.
4. Supreme Court should be elected every 4 years and not appointed by crooked politicians.
5. No retirement benefits for any Politician other than what any American citizen would receive.
6. No exceptions to any law for any politician, they can live by the same laws they pass for everyone else.
7. Cut ALL frivolous spending.
a. No need to buy art when we can’t afford to pay our bills.
b. No giving to disasters outside of our country until we are out of debt.
c. Cut government jobs by at least 20%.
8. Let the states take care of their own people.
a. Let more taxes go to the states and less to the government.
b. Let each state pass laws on welfare for their state. They know what they can afford.
9. Instead of paying more unemployment for long term unemployment, let them work for the military. Government is spending money get some use out of it.
10. Security profiling instead of harassing obvious law abiding citizens.
11. No politician can vote themselves a raise. This must be approved by the people.
12. Outlaw death taxes. The money has already been over taxed as it is.
13. All spending should be viewable by all tax payers; after all they work for the people.
14. When media “supports” a candidate then all their air time about that candidate counts as a donation.
This is just a start.

Now let the fireworks begin.

Esther, I'm with you 100%. Of course Obama's sidekick and shadow, DM doesn't agree with you because your suggestions take too much power from a "dictating government!"

I would like to see DM go one by one down the list and give a good, sensible reason why your suggestions are wrong. I guess, by DM's determination, what we need is more BIG GOVERNMENT and more LITTLE PEOPLE to serve the BIG GOVERNMENT!

Are you kidding?

What exactly do you disagree with?

BTW...this country isn't interested in any dictator no matter who it is.

Thanks BT.

I would also change the prison system.

For example:

1. No exercise equipment. They can develope their muscles with work like everyone else. Why should we give criminals something we don't give law abiding citizens?

2. I would look at have prisons with different security levels.

a. For example:
Murders in higher security levels.
Tax evaders in a lower level.
Sex offenders in same prison with each other.

3. No cable TV, and no TV's until 6 months prior to being released.

Take away the privledges that hard working people have from their earnings.

We don't give these things to the homeless why should we give it to the criminals?

4. Crack down on drugs and gangs running the prisons.

You have just too much common sense. The politicans cringe at such thoughts...wherever will they get their next votes if they take to heart your recomendations?

I noticed you didn't mention corporate welfare. You didn't mention the farmers who live in large brick home's, who's wife's drive Escalades and children drive a BMW yet they get a regular check from the government. There are plenty of these farmers in my area.

Don't you just hate farmers? Class envy.

In the bible God blessed Abraham. God decides whom to bless. He can stop the rain on the farms and they have to borrow more money. I am glad there weren't any Democrats to rip off Abraham.

Now when God blesses a farmer, we have greedy Democrats that say God is bad and gave them to much. Much has to be taken away. Given to people that don't work.

I size up farmers with large homes and new expensive vehicles as farmers with a lot od debt.
