Veteran Rep. Charles Rangel, the raspy-voiced, backslapping former chairman of one of Congress' most powerful committees, was censured by his House colleagues for financial misconduct Thursday in a solemn moment of humiliation in the sunset of his career.
"I brought it onto myself," Rangel told the House. But he also said politics was at work.
After the 333-79 vote, the 80-year-old Democrat from New York's Harlem stood silently at the front of the House and faced Speaker Nancy Pelosi as she read him the formal resolution of censure.

heh...."I brought it onto myself" sounds like a confession "Politics was at work" and excuse and he pleaded that he did not deserve censorship...yep the man is a politician

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
as i understand it, this tax evading defrauder who was in charge of writing tax law, got a 40 second slap on the wrist for something that Wesley Snipes is headed for the federal pen for.
nice.

There is a difference. It is my understanding that Rangel went to the IRS and worked out a deal to pay them off a certain percentage so the balance owed would be dropped. Snipes has refused to pay. If I am wrong on this, maybe someone with more knowledge on it can correct me.

Is he allowed to hold his office after this?

Any politician in his position would be able to hold office after this-- as long as he is elected. He just won't be as influential as he once was-- which was already waning anyway.
The man is 80 years old!
Tax payer dollars wasted on investigating an 80 year old who did what?
Once the investigation was complete America was so much the better!
Now that he is censured (which means very little anyway) the sun will shine on America's economy, starting tomorrow!
