Francis Chan: "Thinking Biblically"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYhU0...layer_embedded

Great video... good stuff...
1 thing... realizing that our life won't necessarily "fit" with the stories in Acts because of the consideration of time, language, culture, need, etc... So things will most definitely be new and different. We aren't given the task of repeating history, but of spreading the Gospel. What we do have, though, is the task to maintain the traditions of the Apostles when it comes to principle, etc... Pentecostals usually take credit for being restorationists, but I think we pick and choose how far we truly want to "go back."

Shared Leadership
Varying attitudes toward women in the first several centuries (regarding leadership)
Traditions of Gathering and "doing church" (we can't erase history, and so we are building on the hind legs of something that is very old. A wrecking ball is not always the best way to be "be biblical," though that's how many of us feel (myself included at times).

Watch the video and post your reaction/comments, etc.

He needs a Proverbs 31 wife that can patch the holes in his jeans.

You are hereby requested to keep your comments to yourself and refrain from posting on this thread. Of all that could have been said, you actually noticed his jeans???? Your symptoms are screaming at us.

I used the "Crazy Love" series in my small group last year. I found most of us were not ready to go to the extent of love, that Bro . Chan spoke about in that series of lessons.
