1 in 5 Americans mentally ill
CHICAGO - More than 45 million Americans, or 20 percent of U.S. adults, had some form of mental illness last year, and 11 million had a serious illness, U.S. government researchers reported on Thursday.
"Too many Americans are not getting the help they need and opportunities to prevent and intervene early are being missed," Pamela Hyde, SAMHSA's administrator, said in a statement.
"The consequences for individuals, families and communities can be devastating. If left untreated mental illnesses can result in disability, substance abuse, suicides, lost productivity, and family discord."
Shall we add Prozac to the drinking water?
How about the healthcare laws. I take it we want to medicate and subdue the country and get a little more compliance.
Since I am healthy, it means the odds of it being you are about 25%

I've suffered from depression off and on my whole life. So, I would probably be considered "mentally ill". Oh well. Shrug.

This is because it is necessary to label every little nuanced deviation from defined normalcy because the pharm companies can't market a medication to "treat" it unless it has been labeled.
ILG... In the future if you find yourself battling depression again... look into Niacin (Vitamin B3)
