Are these Jobs nobody wants?
During this election year the subject of illegal immigration is a hot topic. So to are jobs and one candidate is being scrutinized for working at HP as an executive during which HP shipped off 30k jobs over seas...
2 thoughts occurred to me, why aren't those low paying jobs being called jobs nobody wants anyways
and
When will someone petition all those asians (most of them) to be allowed to become US citizens because they are all hard workers who clothe you and call you during dinner from India? OR better yet help you realize your computer is not working because it is not turned on?

Re: Are these Jobs nobody wants?
HP is a fine product. They are economical and save money on assembly and tech support. Packard Bell went out of business because they had high priced tech support and rationing. I hear 4 hour wait times. The month Obamacare was signed IBM sent 7,500 jobs to India because of it.

Why would someone petition people overseas to become US citizens?

Re: Are these Jobs nobody wants?
I haven't talked to an American about a credit card account in a long time. Maybe someone should look at those poor suffering banks who do all their customer service from overseas also

Re: Are these Jobs nobody wants?
There are jobs that nobody wants, but people still willing to work them. Then there are people not willing to work at all, despite the availability of work.
Two vastly different scenarios. I believe some politicians who voiced the "who will work these jobs?" during the campaigns should be asking an entirely different question. "Why won't our own citizens work these jobs?" It probably would surprise them to find the answer culminates within the very policies they endorse.

the point was that the argument goes we should give illegals citizenship because they are hard workers, so why not give the other hard workers the same?

Re: Are these Jobs nobody wants?
I am curious as to the "path of citizenship" currently being discussed over in Washington. Here is why: US citizens who are married to non-US citizens have to petition to allow their non-citizen spouses to immigrate to the US. It takes a long time, 6-7 months. Part of that petition is a guarantee that the new immigrant will not participate in any public assistance programs, it is called an "affidavit of support" and if the new immigrant applies for or participates in any of these programs the US citizen takes liability to repay the money (god help the couple if the US citizen loses his/her job). This is in effect for (10) years. Without signed sponsorship with proven ability to provide this support (poorer couples need a 2nd US citizen co-sponsor) the non-US spouse must remain overseas.
Who is sponsoring all of the existing illegal immigrants? Taxpayers?
