True repentance is...

True repentance is believing on Jesus for by turning toward Jesus we have turned from sin. In fact, turning toward Jesus by believing on him is the only way we can truly turn from sin because our righteousness is by Christ.

Re: True repentance is...

Yup. I believe repentance is one of the least taught subjects in both traditional old time Oneness Pentecostal churches, Neo Pentecostal churches, and Charismatic churches.

OP's want to mostly talk about baptizing in Jesus name and the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues and Neo Pentecostals / Charismatics want to skip the repentance part completely or breeze by it on the way to getting people to say the sinners prayer and "accept Christ".

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

So what would you say repentance is?

Keeping in mind it is late at night after a very rough day so I may not be as cogent as I would like I will say that I believe;

Repentance is acknowledging one is away from God, walking apart from God, is a fallen being living in sin, needs to change, wants to change, asks God to forgive him of his sin and pledges to follow God from that point on.

I agree , and believe that is the right and most complete definition I have ever heard.
