People ought to spell out which "IHOP" they mean because even after all this time I was still expecting something to do with a pancake house.

I'm sorry but as the father of a boy who really IS in a wheelchair and really CAN'T walk, this stuff just really frustrates me. First, we don't see him in the chair, we just see running.
So he starts telling his story and contradicts himself constantly. First he says he was paralyzed from head to toe which is interesting because he's wearing gloves to wheel the chair, that is nowhere NEAR the wheelchair of a paralyzed person...just a basic wheelchair. But then he says he could move his arms, but was just numb and couldn't feel anything.
Then he says he hasn't walked in two months but then says he had been walking with a walker. Then he says it was horribly painful. But wait....I thought he was numb and couldn't feel anything?
Then the other guy says that before the service he could only stand on his heals. What?? I thought he had been in a wheelchair for two months and couldn't walk.
Really frustrating to see this stuff.

We have had a IHOP team at our church two different times, this is a radical bunch. They are radically in love with Jesus, they will sing, dance and pray for hours. The will pray for anyone and and problem, we have had several testify of healings, baptisims in the Spirit, and miracles of various kinds.
There is many that think they are too wild and radical, you have to remember our church is a former C of C, so I guess that would be expected.

NOW,
I am the father of a special needs son, so I can relate. But I have been around some IHOP folks, and they are not cons, they are trying desperately to find power in prayer and worship. I cannot testify of what happened to this guy, but very early in the video you can see them helping him out of the chair, and it looks to be very difficult for him.
I don't know where they will go with this, but they are constantly in prayer and expectation of God. I hope they find some answers, the world needs God to show up. Is there a people anywhere that really experience these things or are we just too far removed from Him??

Yes, and I respect you GREATLY for the work you do in the area of special needs. You are a hero in my book.
Whether they be cons or no, I know not. I've witnessed much of this kind of thing over the years and there's certainly an element here of the "same ole, same ole". But their hearts? That's not my call.
But as for the "Real thing"? Like I said...this frustrates me.

I understand your concerns.
I was not there, so I can't speak definitively and say anything about how it was conducted or the guy contradicting himself.
I can tell you that the people at IHOP genuinely love the Lord and they are not a group that operates on hype or faking things like this.
Moreso even then the healing, although that was awesome, I was just floored because the joy of the Lord is so apparent on every one who is a part of this. Even for those that disagree with their doctrine, it is hard to deny that these people love God and love seeking God.
However, I've learned from AFF that even when I share something that I think will be uplifting, there will always be those who don't agree. I've come to accept that. Thanks for your input.

I tried. There wasn't enough room in the title box.

Re: Healing at IHOP: Student gets out of wheelchai
I've been around almost every "pentecostal" type group, except snake handlers, there is. I've been around IHOP'ers and all kinds of things. In ALL of them I have found there to be a mixture of genuineness, hype, reality and downright fraud. The difficult thing is not letting the few bad apples breed cynicism in our hearts. I have found that it is easy for those desperately wanting a miracle (I know from personal experience) to dismiss someone else's miracle. It makes not receiving what you want not hurt so badly. I really don't know anything about this miracle and I am skeptical myself of many claims. I'm not skeptical because I don't want to believe. I'm skeptical because I really DO want to believe. I just want to believe in the real thing. I don't like to be scammed!
However, I really don't find any contradictions at all in his testimony. He is not being deposed, he's summarizing what happened to him. I am sure that there were differing degrees of his affliction. So I'm not going to be quick to call it a scam. I will simply rejoice in apparently what God has done for this young man. Thank you Lord for Your miracle working power!!!
May God pour out His Spirit, perform miracles, signs and wonders! And I want to partake of them and witness them firsthand!

I PMed you, but I'll publicly say that if I had it to do over again, I might not post what I did. My feelings remain and I'm confident they're warranted but I'm not thrilled being the "Negative" voice. I take pleasure in being a voice of "Reason" but not a voice of "Negativity."
I have no feelings and not much knowledge of IHOP except their pancakes. In the meantime, I trust completely in the perfection of His strength, and the absolute sufficiency of His grace.
