Outside of The Box Ministry
Did you ever do anything "outside of the box" in your church ministry?
If so,what?
You know, I can't think of anything that would probably be "outside the box" in my ministry! Maybe I better wake up! Did have an old fashion outside "Brush Arbor Meeting" in Louisiana one time! Nah, that's not really out of the box!
I'm thinkin..

Re: Outside of The Box Ministry
Guess you haven't seen my thread?
IMO, opening sober living homes is a bit out the box, maybe that's just me.

But, that's for sure "a great out of the box" ministry. I don't think anyone could question that one! God's blessing on what you are doing!

Re: Outside of The Box Ministry
We set out to witness downtown when suddenly the Holy Ghost told me to start street preaching. So I quietly got up on a bench at the bus stop and quickly pointed my hand like it was a gun at one of the young thugs standing with his possie and yelled, "BANG!" I began to vividly describe a drive by shooting wherein some of the people standing at the bus stop was shot and killed. As they stared at me like I was crazy, I think ask, "Since you're now dead...where will you spend eternity?" I then began to preach about Jesus and how Jesus died to open the door for them to be saved. Believe it or not, I got a pretty decent response once they knew I was street preaching.
The only other time I can think about having "preached outside of the box" was when we were downtown (again). They have these statues that the periodically stand around town. Some of them sit on benches etc. Well, one was in a position as though he were reading and I sat down next to him like I was glancing along with him and froze. After a few moments a woman walked by and took a double take. Then she began to walk towards the statue inquisitively... as she approached I quickly held out a tract and said, "Hello mam, do you know Jesus loves you?" She about jumped out of her skin and some passersby began laughing hysterically at her. She began laughing too and shook her head at me. We had a decent conversation. lol
