View Poll Results: Will racism be cited as the main reason Dems lose?

Yes. For lack of an honest look at why they lost, Dems and the media will blame it on racism.

How Much You Wanna Bet...
...if the Dems lose in November and/or BO in 2012, one of the mantras we will be hearing from the losing side and from the mainstream media will be "racism is alive and well in America in the 21st Century..."?

Racism is alive and well....
didn't BHO specifically ask for the support of African Americans, Latinos and minorities for help in November of 2010?
As long as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton flit from coast to coast and show their faces and bring their inflammatory rhetoric to various situations, racism is alive and well.
In my opinion, President Obama is as racist as Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Rev. Wright.

I think your opinion is wrong.
The President is not racist.
What away to just insult a man's character unnecessarilly!

I voted, "No."
First of all, I don't think he's going to lose because I don't think the GOP has someone that can beat him.
Even if he did lose, the racism cry for him losing the election will not be widespread. If it is about racism for that many Americans alive today, he would have never been elected in the first place!
Fact is, most Americans are prejudiced by stories, experiences and perceptions. Most aren't patently racist.

Almost funny saying BHO is not a rasist. Of course he is. He see's everything through race tainted glasses...everyhing. Police try to hinder a potential break in to a professors house, BHO immediately starts talking race. Hementions not just Blacks but hispanics as well as being victims of rasism when nothing in that incident involved hispanics. Stop and listen to BHO. He is a race agitator.
It is not an insult to his character, it is identifying his character. It's who he is and how he operates as a "community organizer"
Oh, by the way, racism is how he got elected in the first place as president. Majority of minorities voted for him due to his race, and the many whites that voted for him did so out of guilt or just to prove they weren't rasists, verifying their rasism by doing so, I think.
But God is still good to all of us.

I totally disagree that racism is the reason that Barack Obama was elected the president. Firstly, racism is the mindset that one ethnicity is superior to another which results in discrimination against people of those ethnicities. Hence to say that a "majority" of minorities voting for him was due to racism, doesn't fall in line with what racism is. I believe that he was elected for a few reasons: 1) The historical aspect; 2) Many people were moved by his eloquent speaking and "charisma", finding it easy to believe in a "cause" (whatever that cause may be); and 3) People were looking for a feeling that they actually live in a democracy and have the power to elect politicians. Hence, I think it was a political statement to the Republican Party because of former President Bush's handling of the wars and the tanking of the economy.
On the other hand those that are White that voted for him as you put it "out of guilt or just to prove they weren't rasists" is quite illogical. So I do agree with you that it verifies ones racism. Because unless they broadcast that they voted for Obama, no one would know. If that made them feel better as a person, than that is clearly a personal issue. I feel that many non-Black/African Americans voted for Obama out of guilt. I think that they saw it as a form of reparations or something. This I find to be quite sad, vote for who you feel is the better candidate, because not all Black/African American's voted for Obama.
If you are racist against Black Americans, African Americans, Mexican Americans, Chinese Americans, or any other ethnicity of people than that is what you are. But, to say that you are not a racist and vote for a person that is a "minority" doesn't show that you are not a racist. Voting isn't a publicized decision. Yes, in-spite of it all God is still good to us all. Thank God for that.
To answer the original post: I do not think that if the Democrats lose the election in 2012 it will be blamed on racism. However, I think for the most part the media has already acknowledged that racism still exists in the USA. I think as far as Obama goes personal attacks didn't work the first time. He will be attacked based on his presidential record. I firmly believe that if he runs for re-election and looses it will be based on the decisions he has made.
Racism will never totally go away, because ungodly spirits will continue to run rabid until their time comes to an end. Given the latest developments in the world, we (the church) don't have much longer to wait. It won't be long til' we see Jesus!!

So the President openly requesting blacks and latinos vote in 2010 and 2012 ... but not asking the same of whites - this isn't racist?
Right.

Re: How Much You Wanna Bet...
I voted yes, but I think the one's who will take the biggest blame will be the big bad and eeeeeevil right wing media and talk show hosts; who's hate-filled and racist rhetoric borders on sedition* and caused people to be afraid.
*Speaking of sedition, on the Chris Mathews show, Joe Klein (a columnist with TIME Magazine - the same magazine who has favorably featured BHO on its front page numerous times...more than any other President.), recently accused Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck of sedition.
Quote:
Klein said that much of the heated political rhetoric "especially the ones coming from people like Glenn Beck and to a certain extent Sarah Palin, rub right up close to being seditious."
|
After some outrage against the statement, he tried to clarify what he meant:
Quote:
“On the Chris Mathews Show Sunday, I said that some of the right-wing infotainment gasbags — people like Glenn Beck etc. — were nudging up close to the edge of sedition. This has caused a bit of a self-righteous ruckus on the right,” Klein wrote. “Let me be clear: dissent isn't sedition. Questioning an Administration's policies isn't sedition. But questioning an Administration's legitimacy in a manner intended to undermine or overthrow it certainly is.”

Re: How Much You Wanna Bet...
I know of a pastor who believes that the lost tribes of Israel migrated into Europe, namely the British Isles. He believes the Jews in Israel today are decendents of Judah (and perhaps Benjamin) and that many in Britain, America, and Australia are Israel. He looks at this election as being very very bad. He said, "For the first time in over 200 years a man who isn't from the line of Abraham is President of the United States. He sees it as a battle between the seeds.
