Psalm 51:9-12
Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
The Lord is so good! Just when you think it’s all over, and there is nowhere else to turn. He is still there calling you. He doesn’t give up unless you give him up. Here David prays to the Lord. David knew he did wrong and asked the Lord to forgive him. He knew the Lord had not given him up, but that the Lord would punish him for what he had done. The Lord loved him, and called him a man after his heart that would fulfill his will. (
Acts 13:22) His prayer started with (Have mercy upon me, O God) He pleads with him for his life and the Lord spares it, but in the future the Lord would cruse his generation by taking away the kingdom and giving it to an enemy. Leaving only one kingdom for his generation.
