Im proud to be Apostolic... but

I am proud to be Apostolic. But....

Does that mean I throw away my brother or sister because they have short sleeves?

Do I cut off my own family (or church down the street) because they allow splits?

Do I consider another church 'barred' from fellowship because they wear a wedding band?

Does being Apostolic mean "Speaking evil of my brother" is approved from the pulpit because they are liberal or conservative? Isn't that Satans business, the accuser of the brethren?

Off the cuff remarks about someone, that you 'assume' is a certain way, isn't right. (on the forum or from the pulpit). The religious leaders approached Jesus with hard evidence, caught in the very act and Jesus didn't disfellowship. Jesus didn't say things like, "she must not really have the HG!" or "How can she claim to be a child of God!".

No, love covers a multitude of sins.

I am proud to be Apostolic... but let it not be known as the backstabbing Apostolics. (or to the face for that matter )

Just a thought. Said with a smile and not confrontationally.

I have heard all the above, and much more. We cannot continue to do that and be pleasing to God.

(2Co 10:12)
For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themseves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

(2Co 10:17)
But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

When we judge ourselves among ourselves it isn't wise. The only Glory we have is in what the Lord has done for us, and what the Lord has done for others.

Re: Im proud to be Apostolic... but

Some churches we visit I am on pins and needles...and literally I get the sick headache from tension...other churches are so sweet and kind...
I don't care for mean spirited people...

We need to graduate from man made traditions and institutional standards and simply experience the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God isn't meat and drink, or any other outward show or standard. It's a relationship with Jesus Christ. No organization or "standards" necessary.

Now, biblically speaking, the Bible does admonish modesty. However, modesty isn't defined by length, it's defined by intent and effect. If something is designed to attract attention to one in an immoral way or to entice others in an immoral way it's immodest. I've seen ladies wearing pant suits who were more modest than some of our Apostolic sisters wearing dresses and long sleeves.

Re: Im proud to be Apostolic... but

Well, I don't like people that are always judging...some people don't have anything to do but run their mouths...I try to look for the good in each person....
I always want to dress and act in a way that would please God and not draw attention to myself...Humbleness is really the clothing he looks for...
