Funny, you guys want to dishout billions to individual welfare recipients, a healthcare program that will practilly bankrupt those of us who work and pay for insurance by driving our premiums through the roof but you begrudge help to family farms in tough times.

liberals....*heavy sigh*
healthcare reform will keep cost of insurance down by requiring everyone to be insured. (healthcare mandate)
Dont know if you have any experience on a farm or have studied the financial overhead of such a farm but, this payout over 11 years is only about $23,000 a year. Thats beans for a farm. It would amount to about the same impact on your yearly finances of a good tax return.

In fact I think that the insinuation of "hateful" Pentecostals is coming mostly from the fertile imaginations of bitter, backslidden ex Apostolics who are constantly trying to find a way to justify their actions. ~ strait shooter

I think the article states that Bachmann was making $50,000 a year from the farm personally while receiving federal subsidies at the same time. (I could be wrong)

Hmmmm, lets see.
" Her income from the farm has grown from $2,000 a year a few years back to as much as $50,000 for 2008"
So it quotes that for one year out of the 11 she got the $50,000. It doesn't state what she got the next year in 2009 so it must have been less. It also states that she got "$2,000 a year a few years back" So wonder how little she got prior to those "few years back" ? It was less I'm sure or they would have "gladly" stated so if it were more.
Looks to me like the farm was struggling and with some help they made a good recovery. But guess it just depends exactly "what" your looking for in the story .

DM,
Michelle has voted against some federal farm bills. 2008 readily comes to mind. She said it was loaded with "unbelievable" and "outrageous" pork and subsidies.
If she was trying to gain something from this, she wouldn't have voted against her own family farm.
Earmarks, such as infrastructure and some subsidies are not always a bad thing. It's when they are taken advantage of and it doesn't appear she has done that.
Even Ron Paul said it's a political maneuver to cry foul against ALL earmarks and subsidies. Sometimes they are needed. I agree!
You have to almost admire Delluded's faith in liberal ideas. He seems to really think that the Fed getting involved in healthcare will make it cheaper despite all the easy to find history that shows that Federal involvement in anything at all causes just the opposite.

there are measures in the bill besides the mandate, like requiring companies to spend 85% of revenue on medical costs, that will keep premiums down. there are also other mechanisms that have to do with exchanges that will keep cost down. the cbo is nonpartisan night-hen, so get the facts.
