The catching away

I do like this forum.Of course I come and go.However I have not noticed any deep thought on the catching away(Rapture,if you will).
There have been threads discussed at length on soul-sleep,the resurrection and I noticed a new thread on "THE PURPOSE OF HELL".
Is there folks on here looking for the gathering together?How about when Jesus comes for his Bride.Is there any watchmen here?Just wondering.

Yes I am watching and praying. His return is relatively soon but not just yet. The book of Revelation must first be fulfilled.

1: Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2: That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3: Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4: Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
5: Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 2 Thess. 2:1-5

Our gathering to him will be after the man of sin comes to persecute the worldwide Church for 42 months.

It will be a glorious day!

Except I'm pretrib though.

Well we agree on the Rapture anyways. I am watching and waiting and I do hope our Lord comes soon.

Another understanding of verse 3 is:
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a departure (or "catching away" as in what is understood by pre-trib dispensationalists as the "rapture") first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

I believe in the catching away and meeting Christ physically in the air. But it will take us directly to the white throne judgment with nothing else to occur on earth after the rapture before the white throne.

I believe that Jesus will return suddenly without warning and establish His eternal kingdom. I lean Amillennial, so I don't see a Millennium. However, I am open to the possibility of being wrong. I have no idea if he's coming soon or not. I just pray that I'm found ready.

Amen. It is always good to be aware we may be wrong. I take this attitude as well.

But I believe the kingdom has already been established. It is not coming with observation or something we can see. THE CROSS established it already.

The pretrib believe nothing whatsoever has to happen for the Lord to come back.He could come back today.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means;for that day shall not come,except there come a falling away first,and that man of sin revealed,the son of perdition.
2 Thessalonians 2:7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work;BUT THE ONE WHO NOW HOLDS IT BACK will continue to do so until he is taken out of the way.
2 Thessalonians 2:8 And THEN the LAWLESS ONE(anti-christ) will be revealed,whom the Lord Jesus will over throw with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his COMING.(WHEN HE COMES TO SET UP HIS 1000 YEAR REIGN)SECOND COMING

This scripture tells us the RESTRAINER is taken out of the WAY before the Anti-Christ comes on the scene.WHO DO YOU THINK THE RESTRAINER IS?
So my question is who do you think the restrainer is?
Pretrib belief is the restrainer is the Holy Spirit and when he is removed from the earth,so are we in the Rapture.

I do not believe these passages are to or for us concerning the rapture and here is why.

2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
2Th 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

He was writing this letter to people that he, at one time was with and told them certain things. He has never been with or told anyone alive today.
Having said that, in this instance, he was talking to them back then about an event they would see. Notice to if you will, the people was concerned "the coming of the Lord" may have already occured, but there was no real panic that they had missed the rapture, otherwise, they wold not have been present. If the subject was concerning the "rapture" Paul could have just said, "Look, I am still here, therfore no rature has taken place".
That is a short version of my take at this point.

I think the Rapture is the one event that no one can pin if it's PRE, MID, or Post.
However I hope it's pretrib.I believe it's pretrib but can not say for certain it's Pretrib.
There is scripture to validate all three claims.
So we hope,watch and wait.I believe the time is drawing near according to the order of things.Of course pretrib hope to be out of here when the antichrist comes on the scene.
Midtrib hope to leave out when the antichrist becomes indwelled three and a half years into the tribulation.Post trib plans on going through the tribulation.
