However, I am DISPLEASED with the election of the new GS.

I don't like his books.


I wish KH was re-elected.


Truth be told, the GS has very little to do with what happens in my local assembly and I realize this.

But I really don't like his books or the way that so many seem to rally around his books as "Gospel".

I don't know him personally-- my dislike for him is based off of the books I've read by him-- two of them, and the books, websites, etc I've read where his works have been referenced (many).

His books simply state what he believes--his understanding of the Oneness doctrine and traditional standards.

How do they disqualify him for leadership?

Don't we all have the right to be pleased or displeased or neutral about the current Presiding Bishop/Pope/GS of the UPC?

I'm not UPC and don't go to a UPC church so I really don't care who heads up that organization. As far as I know Bro. Haney, Bro. Mooney, Bro. Bernard, Bro. Jones are all good men. And, I'm sure there are many other good men and good women who would make good leaders.

I am sure he is a good man, a godly man and I am in no way trying to attack his character, walk with God or anything.

I have nothing against him personally because I don't know him personally.

I don't like his books on the new birth experience.

I have read two of them.

From what I remember, his books did not answer the hard questions I had concerning our doctrine.

I remember being really irritated with his new birth books. I read two of them and was more discouraged afterwards than I was before.



Honestly, when I think of DB, I lump him and IB in the same category of religious writers who seem to have a "cult following" of people that swallow hook line and sinker statements made that I was not able to understand or agree with.



It was his book that helped me realize that I am not as Apostolic as I once was.

(If agreeing with DB is a mark of my Apostolic identity....)
