Ok...I'm not mentioning names or locations but something thats ticking me off is evangelists I know of going around promoting get rich quick and pyramid schemes. These are oneness ministers and it seems that their focus is on the wrong thing.Anyone else noticed this or am I the only one?I keep hearing God has said He's going to bless this or that and personally I dont think God is involved at all its just them using God as a attractant *Cause if we can put God into it its ok right?* lol But its causing some people to become VERY manipulative and I wonder if they spent a fraction of their time trying to fulfill the Great Commission instead of chasing a buck *This goes for the preachers and the people in the churches that get involved* how many more souls would be reached? I know this may seem like a cryptic post but I dont feel like going into names and situations...just kinda grieves my spirit to see*God's Approval* slapped on these situations....ok...I'm shutting up and getting off my soap box...for now.

This is not new... a few years ago it was melalueca (sp), herbalife, and telefriend phone cards...
When my husband assisted in a church a few years ago and I was doing some multi-level marketing stuff he would not allow me to promote it at church at all.
We attended a church a while back where the pastor's wife was into herbalife, it became an issue that she was "pushing" her vitamins/weightloss plan, as well as distributorships, while working in ministry.

You have a better chance of getting money back by throwing it into the slots on the Strip then you do in investing in virtually any multi-level marketing scheme.
But many church members seem to be the target of these sorts of scams simply because they are so trusting. There is a good reason Dennis Lee hit small towns with lots of churches when pushing his 'free energy' machines and quoting tons of scripture during his sales presentations to packed crowds.

I'm not into multi-level marketing but I sure could use some energy there pal, pack that is, it would take me to the next level >
Never remember it being pushed by ministry here, but have seen lots of people push these sorts of things from the pew.
What I hear often is that if we are living for God he will bless us. Then those with nice homes or good jobs or new cars are asked to testify or are named as examples of being blessed. The saddest part is many don't know how what they are saying comes across. I don't read anywhere in the beattitudes:
Blessed are the mansion owners, for they've shown their great wisdom.
Blessed are the new car owners, for they are shown worthy.
Blessed are they with large savings accounts, for they will never face need.
Nope, don't find those anywhere for some reason...
It seems to me that people believe 'give and it shall be given you' and 'seek first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you' and 'God will supply all your needs' must mean you hit the jackpot when you started serving God. Uhmm, no. Sorry. 'Needs' are much different than 'wants'. God wants is to be wise stewards with everything he gives us. And God has many other ways of blessing and giving than giving us all we want.
Well...what I'm seeing is people who wont even acknowledge ur presence unless they want you to sign up for something or buy something...this isnt in my church btw or any churches in this general area as far as I know...so dont think I'm tryin to diss my local churches cause I'm not...but its even getting into some situations to where some "brothers" are trying to build a prison after getting a contract from these investors to do so...the sherriff in the area is a HolyGhost filled minister and he is against it...well their attitude is "Its been prophesied so its gonna happen whether u like it or not".My point is that if its of God he doesnt need you to manipulate and bribe people...and I dont think God is part of it...its just disturbing to see people who chase after this yet their community goes unreached...I just needed to vent is all.... fyi I've been guilty of getting hooked by these mlm schemes...gas pills ect...I think if u wanna do it fine just keep church out of it...if people get a bad experiance or get messed over during being involved in stuff like this its going to make the church look bad...the world needs to see Jesus when they look at the church not some used car salesman type trying to *hook them up* with blessings from God....I hear people "saying well we prayed about it in prayer meeting and God moved" really? WHICH god I wonder? Could it possibly be that
the god of this world has blinded your eyes to the truth and caused u to be distracted from the true purpose u are here for?...not against money or making money...but when you cant speak to a brother or a sister unless they have something you want there is a problem there.
