Last days
2Ti 3:1 But know this, that in the last days grievous times shall come.
2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, railers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good,
2Ti 3:4 traitors, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof: from these also turn away.
2Ti 3:6 For of these are they that creep into houses, and take captive silly women laden with sins, led away by divers lusts,
2Ti 3:7 ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
My question. What last days are Paul speaking about in this verse? This description fits many periods of time in history inculding our own.

Re: Last days
The term "last days" in the New Testament often refers to the time period before the judgment and destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD.

Re: Last days
The last days of WHAT!!!
The last days of 2009??
The last days of the year,
the month, or the age???
The age of Old Covenant Law and animal sacrifices?
Eph. 2:6,7
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Evidently Paul speaking to the church at Ephesus (one of the seven churches of Asia) in
approx. AD 61.
Could it be that we are living in the last days of another age which was
to come?
Just some thoughts!

Re: Last days
I was always taught it was the day before the anti-christ that was to come and world judgement. But since I have come to see prophecy as having been fulfilled in 70 ad and that the term anti-christ refers to the spirit of anti-christ not a person (world ruler in a fictitional 7 year trib.) I was wondering what last days would refer to. I have many ideas of my own just wanted to see what other of like mind thought.

Re: Last days
The AntiChrist is not a fictitional person, he is very real: I know that the scripture also speaks of the spirit of anti Christ; so rightly dividing the Word is very important when dealing with any kind of prophecy.

I guess if you beleive there will be an anti-christ that will rise up I just cannot find one in the bible. As for rightly dividing the word that goes both ways. As I have found in the last few years dispinsationalism do not rightly divide the word.

Re: Last days
The same last days that is mention in the books of Acts 2:17. In the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh.... Peter is describing something that happen in 1st century A.D. (receiving the Holy Ghost). if we put the "last days" of timothy in our time (2000 plus years later), then we must do the same for the "last days" in the book of Acts, but because we don't; then we put the "last days" in timothy in 1st century A.D. before the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D

Re: Last days
Hebrews 1:1.2
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
This was written in approx. AD 64. Just a few short years before the
seige and destruction of Jerusalem, prophesied by Jesus in Matt. 24, Mark
13 and Luke 21.
If those were the last days of that age of Jewish lawkeeping and animal
sacrifices, what are we living in the last days of?
Just some thoughts!
