Meteor Showers

Anyone see the meteor showers last night? Whats and amazing sight!

Apparently the earth was going through the tail of a meteor and thus encountered some of the debris in our atmosphere.

Always interests me about the things of God and how He created the universe!

Re: Meteor Showers

I did not... and I wish that I had.

We live way away from city lights. It is amazing how dark it gets out here.

It would probably been quite a display.

I would have loved to have seen it, but it was too late for me - -

Should see some as soon as it's dark, if the sky is clear and dark enough -- city lights make it harder to see them. The moon won't be a factor until pretty late, too, since it doesn't rise till almost 11 PM.

Debris trail of a comet, yes. The Perseid meteors come from comet Swift-Tuttle.

Re: Meteor Showers

"The bright spectacle isn't over yet. The meteor shower is expected to peak between 12:30 and 3 p.m. Wednesday but sky watchers only can see the meteors in the dark, Hammergren said. So sit tight until the sun sets, then look up. You could see up to one meteor a minute, Hammergren said. The show should continue for at least a week, he said."
