Was Azusa first?
Just started reading a book that is telling the story of a Scottish Presbyterian, named Edward Irving.
Anyone know any history of this man. According to the book he preached speaking in tongues and gift of the spirit.

Yes.
He highly influenced Margret McDonald and greatly influenced the Pretrib view adopted by the Plymouth Bretheren.

Just in that there may be some thinking out there that Azusa was the first re-visitation of the HG. Or the second great outpouring.

Of course Azusa wasn't first. Even Topeka, Kansas wasn't necessarily first.

Yes, and continued somewhere, all through the earth, all through the centuries. the church has always been on the rock and there were always people who experienced Acts 2:1-4 ever since the day of Pentecost.
I would not want to be in this if it has not occurred since the days of Acts 2.

I should have got deeper into the book before posing questions.
God has opened a unique door for me in which an ignorant person (me) has opportunity to speak with someone of great intellect. I'm in prayer for this situation. The man believes oneness but has serious doubts about the necessity of baptism and tongues. He has written in depth about both topics.
I do believe he would be open to discussion.
Please help me pray.
As for those who have cocky responses, its really unnecessary.
